$3800 leftover. 3 trades left, holding for LTI's.

Backs: Docherty, Laird, Adams, Hibberd, Lloyd, Tuohy (Ryan, Shaz)
Mids: Danger, T. Mitchell, Martin, Pendles, Jelwood, Bont, JPK, Treloar (Witherden, Hibberd, Cousins)
Rucks: S. Martin, Witts (Strndica)
Forwards: Yeo, Franklin, Heeney, Macrae, Dalhaus, Nankervis (Greenwood, Simpson)
Average score of 2421 with Danger captain.

How much higher average does someone have?

(I know average isn't a true indication due to injury/recent form, but would just like a ball park figure to compare other completed teams with)

Counting starting 22 only I assume? Will add mine up later when I get a chance.

I'm pretty damn happy with my final team, it's just a damn shame I'm ranked a cool 12,469
this is where I'm at after 2 trades this week..

Newman -> Roberton
Steele -> Macrae

Yeah starting 22 only
Mine is about 2367, yet I reckon I've scored above that about once or twice this season with 2100-2300 my regular scoring range

It's such a misleading expectation, my first two weeks were good then I captained Gawn in R3 for an 1880 and my team and rank just went downhill after that.

2408 for me, but we have very similar teams. I have instead:
Rance > Hibberd
Fyfe > Pendles
Gawn > Witts
Greene > Franklin

Here's my potato farm :$:$:$

Had 215k spare, went Ryan to a rock bottom Jelwood via Hibberd DPP to complete my side

Massive bunch of underperforming ***** this mob.

Harbrow, campaigner, brought him in for byes, played a week, gets suspended for two, comes back and gives me 2 100s then the last two weeks he's been rubbish

Shaw, lol, poor starting pick

Pendles, been largely rubbish since I thought I got him in "cheap" at about 540k a while back

Rocky, massive campaigner, easily his best score he gave me was when he did his shoulder, held him through his 3 weks off as I've had injury problems all year, should've just dumped him if I had of known how poo he'd be on return

Steele, too inconsistent

Nank, too inconsistent

Dahl, going through the motions most weeks, doesn't have the same energy about him as he did early in the season

I'll look to field/loophole Greenwood at every opportunity due to those 3 underperforming forwards

Stef has been meh since Smith returned to the team, needs to find his mojo back, Gawn is looking like another bust, got him at what I thought would be rock bottom last week, gives me a 79 and 57 since

Bont hasn't been great either since I got him in for Beams in R7, but to his credit his doesn't throw up absolute rubbish underpar scores like what Steele, Shaw, Rocky and Harbrow have regularly done which ruins your scoring potential. This team can go mega on any given week, but far too many spuds are out of form currently, Hartlett and Witherden may be getting regularly loopholed if a few don't get their ass into gear

Anyways, can't do anything about it now, just hope this spud farm can pump out some decent numbers to finish the season.
Oh bloody hell....

Might dump Pendles for Jelwood now with Pendles' busted finger

Let Ryan moo for a week or two longer then upgrade him to best available

2401 for my team but 2435 if I execute the trades I want to this week, but that would only leave me one trade left so I will probably hold. Have both Jelwood and Beams who scored 4 and 2 respectively in a game recently, bringing averages down.

3 trades and $133k left.

Defence 9 out of 10 - have the top 4 by average and Witherden looks like good cover. Would be nice to have a M/D rookie at M11

Midfield 8 out of 10 - needs Dusty, Merrett or Neale which I could do for Pendles or Swallow (but won't for now). Would be nice if I did then Rocky would be my M9. Swallow's not bad in the role for now - will have to cover Pendles this week (please play Dangerfield).

Ruck 8 out of 10 - wish I had Kreuzer but the rest are much of a muchness. Good R/F DPP with Ryder, Nank and Cameron helps

Forward 7 out of 10 - Lynch, Nank and Dahl letting the side down. Plus Greene and Yeo having time off in recent weeks. Clearly my worst line but forwards have been a nightmare for everyone this year. Would love McCrae though.

If I still have 3 trades in 2 weeks time then I'll splurge on Stef or Gawn or McCrae or Dusty or Merrett for the finals - whichever one looks good and is most needed.

Final Team, with 3 trades saved for Finals.

Hopefully these 3 trades will be used for to final upgrades and 1 downgrade, barring any premo injuries.

Steele and Witts would be the final upgrades, though Witts has been more than serviceable throughout the year. If GAwn happens to catch fire, it will be a straight swap for him. Macrae/ Ryder in for Steele would be the other upgrade.

Looks like this is where I've landed - regret Gawn trade (should have got Buddy for much cheaper..)

Decent bench and 3 trades so happy to ride it out with this lot

2411 for me. Haven't scored that high once this season though :(

That's as good as it is going to get for me this year. One precious trade remaining, but with no moolah to accompany it, it's really only good for sideways covering an injury or adding depth to the pine.

Under-performing premo mids have been my downfall. Had Fyfe and Hannebury from the get go. Also started with Treloar and wasted 3 trades on Beams (don't ask). Picked up Sloane and Bont right before they turned to poo.

Burned through 3 trades on my rucks which is never ideal.

Defenders and Forwards have pretty much gone to script, but that is the best I can say about my 2017 SC season :(

I guess this is as good as it's getting. 2 trades left and not much cash.

Stuck with Danger, Fyfe, Treloar the whole way. Brought in the rest at bargain basement price which is maybe why my mids are underwhelming. Would have loved to have had one or two of Neale, Zerrett or Mitchell.

Defense is ok but missing Adams hurts. JJ actually hasn't been too bad in the last 3-4 weeks though. Saved me 100k as well.

Rucks are reasonable. Forward line looks decent enough.

Let's see how much ground I can make up in the next 5 weeks. 20,500th would like to go up a few thousand at least!

Have you decided who you are getting in for Pendlebury?

Have Sloane atm purely based on his 110 average and his ability to go huge!

Beams and Cotchin the only other real midfield options.

Wallis or Buddy if I want to bring in a forward and throw 1 of my forward/mids into the midfield.

Hey JM, was just wondering would Pendlebury to Gawn be an option for you as well?
You're going with Witts/Nank/Ryder combo? You could get Gawn and have Ryder and Nank in the forward line and play a FWD/MID in the midfield.
Do you have a R/F loophole rookie to move Ryder and Nank in and out of your rucks for back up?

I think you have plenty of options to think about... good luck with what ever you end up going with.

Thought I saw something similar from Huttabitto but as far as I'm concerned, and it's only my opinion, this, is the best hindsight team I can come up with for a retrospective starting team for 2017.
Firstly, this team is designed for maximum onfield points and money making where possible, example Steele may not be the best money maker but provides the best bang for buck onfield option at that price until he can be upgraded to Heeney or whatever later on. Similarly with Murphy who would turn into Dangerfield and Sandi who would turn into Kreuzer etc.. Trade in targets would be Danger, Neale, Kreuzer, Hibberd, Heeney, Witherden, Greenwood etc.. getting cheaper Dahl, Lloyd, Selwood.. Remaining salary cap is $33,500.

Docherty Adams Laird
Hurley McGrath Otten (Stewart Newman)

Merrett Zorko Martin Mitchell
Kelly Murphy Oliver PPepper (Barrett Berry Parfitt)

Sandilands Witts (Preuss)

Macrae Yeo Ryder
Nankervis Steele Burton (Butler Houston)
