All I know is that at this time last year I was going on about how Brodie was the right and only pick. What the hell do i know.

The way SPS built his tank over a season makes me think that a Rayner, who oozes talent as well, can do something similar given the right environment.

Is Rayner seen as the best player in this draft by most? If so - are we relying on both Brisbane and GC passing him up to being a flight risk? Didnt GC pick Brodie who was from Vic just last year?

Brisbane have a strategy of picking Vic Country kids who will be leaving home either way and are apparently into Dow, GC like the skillful outside types. Rayner is from Sydenham and is a contested beast which should hopefully see him fall to #3.

SPS' endurance base was way better. He kept himself in excellent shape for years prior to the draft.

He ran 10:30 in the 3km, but didn't do the beep due to a corkie. Played through injury pretty doggedly in his draft year.

Rayner is the best pure one on one inside 50 player.

Beautiful hands, glorious kick, when the ball hits the deck, keeps his feet and goes the right foot.

Dusty clone.

I heard a better version of Petracca which would be exactly what we need.
I'd happily take Rayner at 3 no problems at all.

Pretty poor effort from #5.
Yeah I was wondering if we were just missing or ignoring the fact that he was pretty easily caught and would've been done for holding the ball if the other player had just made a decent attempt to tackle.

Who's more likely to be available to us at #3, Rayner or Dow?

The hype around Dow the last week or so has got me excited. Should I be or is it just a bit of smoke? Seems Dangerfield esque in his physical ability given what I've read.

Right now, given the rumours, Dow seems to be linked to the Lions

That could change more than 1/2 dozen times before the draft

Rayner gives some badly needed goal scoring power and has the tools needed to become a very good midfielder, he just seems to be the type of player we need most IMO.
I really rate Dow and he is most likely the safer pick, but Rayner has off the chart level potential.

1. Rayner
2. Dow
3. LDU
4. Cerra

5. Stephenson
6. LOB
7. Brander
8. Fogarty
9. Coffield

10. Clarke
11. Higgins
12. Worpel
This is pretty much how I see the top end talent ATM, clear top 4 prospects, then a group of 5 or so a level below and another group of 3/4 prospects at the back end of the top 10, with TAC cup finals, U18 All Stars game and draft combine, there's still a fair bit to play out.

Good stuff OldNavy. Few differences to mine, as everyone's is different, but i like to see thoughts presented clearly like this .

More the better.

I really hope Rayner, should we choose him, doesnt get a case of the Stringers... i almost render him useless atm.
