Are we going to put him on the opposite wing to Tim English,
two rucks in the first round in two consecutive years is
very strange recruiting tactics, but in five to six years we
could have the most dominant ruck duo in the history of
the game. (Cue evil laughter)
Use hayes as a midfielder

I'd be very disappointed with Naish at our first. I got a very good look at him in his last few games and he looked soft plus his decision making wasn't real flash. Not sure what his testing was like earlier in the year, but he doesn't appear have any outstanding athletic attributes either. I'd probably only just place a bid on him at our 2nd pick on the back of his champs form.

After seeing some footage I'm really keen on Ed Richards. Wizard17 I remember you talking about him a while ago, I reckon he seems perfect for us. What are the knocks on him, too outside? Seems good defensively.

I wouldn't be shocked if we grabbed Houlahan with our first pick knowing Dalrymple.

He does tick a few boxes to; been a goal kicker, athletic and able to take a mark.

He's certainly not too outside, has spent time playing as an on baller at Oakleigh and has actually been surprisingly good at the clearances. He has very good clean hands in tight. The only problem is he can't spend long in there, his endurance needs a lot of work. Often comes to the bench after a stint in the middle.

Any idea what his beep or yo-yo scores are?

Going back over Charlie Constable's footage from the Champs there is something special there. I just have this feeling that Dal will love him.

Needs to work on his endurance and find a bit more of the footy. If he can do that then he would be a steal wherever he is picked.

I always thought if we get 9 and 11 we could use 9 on a safer pick and 11 on a riskier pick like Richards or Bonar.

That's what I'm thinking too. Clark I was thinking as a good safe pick to take. I imagine you'd be thinking Constable? Then Richards, Bonar, Murphy, Allen or Bailey at 11.

Pick 9 on Brayshaw and we finally defeat the "dud brother" curse?

I get the feeling we're hoping Coffield slips, but it's highly likely he doesn't.

Yeah I'm thinking Constable. Can just see him fitting into our system so easily and the extra marking around the ground and being able to really stick his tackles is something we need more of.

Not sure on Clark. I don't think he adds the burst speed of Brayshaw or the marking + physical presence of Constable.
Why not take two risky picks? Perhaps only one works out but their ceilings are much higher.
Actually wouldn't mind that either, I like risky picks. Would rather two risky picks than two safe ones.
Because if you take too much of a risk with these early picks you could end up with absolutely nothing out of it. Which is crap for the list overall.

6. Adam CERRA – Eastern Ranges
DOB: 7/10/99 | Ht: 185.9cm | Wt: 79.5kg | Medium Midfielder

Cerra is another who’s season was cut short by a shoulder injury, but his quality was there for all to see with the Ranges – and Wesley in school foot. He can win the ball inside and out and gets from contest to contest very well.

He is rated by Darren Bewick as the best kid he’s coached in his time at Eastern – some wrap considering the names that have preceded him.

Big Board 1.0 Ranking: 5
With guys like Stephenson, Brayshaw and Coffield seemingly bolting, is a Cerra slide completely outside of the realms of possibility? From what I've read it sounds like he's pretty much the best fit type-wise for us in the draft.

I think that he still goes before our first. If he somehow did manage to drop through it is a complete no brainer to pick him up.

Can't see him getting past St Kilda's two picks

Does anyone think the combine results don't change all that much(other than build hype)?

I like listening to how the players have talked when been interviewed to see how they carry themselves.

they don't, top prospects getting smarter and not testing so they don't show any red flags. It helps 1 or 2 prospects jump but that's about it.

No idea who these guys are but one Richmond poster has us keen on Fogarty and Balta.

Having read the draft profiles posted above, Balta or Ballenden would be a nice risk at 11. I'd hope we go best available small at 9.

Do you mean Bishop?
