Murph needs to step down as captain. We need someone who isn't an introvert, someone who actually models what we want our players to do and be - confidence, assertiveness, competitive both ways... There's just something about Murphy that doesn't do it for me as captain. I'm fed up with the shyness and awkwardness in the media, the fact he doesn't compete in the air, the quiet nature on field.

We can do better.

Sheehan would have to be gone. He like Sumner and Buckley are always injured and don't get enough continuity into there game

Graham won't make it but if we lose Gibbs and don't recruit any ready to go mids we may need him for depth

Then you add possible trade bait, such as Gibbs and Cas

Could be 12 off the list if they all came about!

From memory Jaksch did not play a senior game this season. Based on that he cannot be on the list next season.

Whilst Murphy is no Sticks or Nichols I think he is a good Captain. Had to do it during one of our worst periods and now a rebuild. Not easy. He's not a physical beast. Can't be something your not. He does give his all and work his backside off each and every week. He gives everything for the club and has had a great year.

I have no issue with him staying as Captain for another year or two whilst Cripps develops. I'm in no rush to make Cripps Captain yet. Still young.

IMO there is a big difference between Role Player or List Player as opposed to an Average Player. Lamb for example can play a role and play it well. No world beater but can do something and has proven it. Kerridge similar as he can come in and do a job. Rowe is worth keeping because whilst we are developing he can fill so many roles and is a proven player.

Boekhurst at the moment is an average player at best who has shown glimpses but has some obvious flaws in his game. IMO he is on the edge of being delisted/traded or getting a one year deal.

Have a look at the list of uncontracted players I posted on the last page. There are 9 on the senior list that don't have deals for 2018. Of those 9 I would keep Simpson. Most people would agree we will make at least 8 changes, could be more. Whatever people think it's going to be close

You've got Ward who is terrific at hunting the football in contested situations dominating that facet of the game. Shiel is also tremendous at playing the inside midfield role.

Mr. Hopper is sitting on the outside of packs waiting for the handpass. Whether this is a coaching directive or not, this isn't his natural game. He also hasn't been helped by consistent injury.

You've got Ward who is terrific at hunting the football in contested situations dominating that facet of the game. Shiel is also tremendous at playing the inside midfield role.

You're exactly right. GWS have so many dominant inside specialists it means Hopper is pushed onto a flank, which isn't where he was dominant as a junior.

W.A. guy that was overlooked last year, apparently for 'personal' issues.
I think he's averaging about 3 goals a game, mostly as a small forward, this year.

Hopper isn't a GWS reject. They'd love to keep him.

Havent seen a lot of GWS this year, are they still playing him out of his natural position? I know last year he spent a lot of his time forward instead of midfield.

I'm indifferent. Happy if he stays another year, happy if we can trade him for something. Balic maybe, if Boek want to return to the West as some have suggested. I'm pretty certain one of the ITK's suggested earlier in the season, SOS was keen on Balic. If that's the case it should be an easy enough trade to facilitate ( based on reports that Balic wanted to go to Vic) earlier in the season.

GWS posters are saying Hopper is definitely leaving.

How reluctant are we to re sign Casboult? What money does he deserve?

I would hate to give up on a big key forward who can ruck as well. They are hard to find. Unless the powers that be are as certain as they can be that Harry comes on! Kreuzer had a great year but needs help, not more of a load. If we get rid of Gorringe and Phillips isn't available again, we need to pay Cas. I reckon 500K and 2 years is fair. Tyrone Prickery got more for a similar role. You could argue that Cas improved this year although he looked tired on the back end.
