A lot went right?

He didn't start training until February and played the first 6 weeks as a forward. After that he averaged 116.

If Bont played forward so much he would have got F eligibility this year (like several other Bullies mids) so I think you're overestimating his total forward time.

As to what went right for him, it was the influence he had over close games (the Bullies had plenty) and the resulting benefits to his SC score in terms of scaling and multipliers for game winning/influencing plays. So basically he's probably going to need to improve his possession numbers to get the same SC scores as in 2016. Can he do it? Yes but it limits his likely potential scoring increase somewhat.

I'll probably use Danger every week anyways but... one of the only weeks I didn't go for him he scored 229

IIRC Gawn's opening draw isn't great for loopholing.

Trueee but... I usually rank picks based on value and give bonus value for C options (and i subtract value based on how likely i am to trade them! eg Rocky is 50:50 i guess). The more C options I have, the more the bonus gets diluted. There are only a few rounds pre-byes where Danger can't be VCd with Strnadica, and atm I put Fyfe and Pendles as more likely backups than Rocky.

I am planning post bye upgrade, IIRC Rocky has averaged like 125+ over last 3 seasons post bye.

He's doing a full preseason. Article was in the age the other day. I agree that he's a decent pick, I trust him more than Beams.

Agreed. Very tempted to take him at M5/M6. Has shown in past he is very capable of scoring well.

I think 2012 was when I first played SC with some idea of what I was supposed to be doing (I was 16 and school mates got me into it). Murphy was my #1 guy, mainly because it was him at M1 then Cotchin then 16 midpricers.
I had him as captain when he did his shoulder and scored 38. I didn't log back in until about round 20 after that.
I've learned a lot since then, and if Beams doesn't line up round 1 I'd give Marc a second chance.

Swallow averaged 103 in 2014 from 22 games before he averaged 86 (6 games) in 2015 before being injured. His average was high 70's before 2015.

Libba averaged 106/110 the two years before his injury, came back and averaged 90. I can't see Swallow coming back and averaging 100 again, think realistically he will be in the 90 range.

Traded him in for Rocky when he went down and was slightly disappointed all in all given missing his first 2 scores. Would have been better sideways trading Rocky to another uber.

I don't have Swallow at the moment but he is slightly different given he is 280k. If I trade him with my current squad it would be at the expense of a premium MID and i'm left with an awkward amount of $$.
