We've sacrificed drafting players this year for trading, given we're the worst positioned Victorian club (only thing that matters for our Vic draft) in this draft.

We have to win a flag next year or in 2019 before too many teams dilute the draft pool with priority picks/signings and the current talent at existing clubs is spread around to equalize the competition.

The shining hope for us in that is we have a chance of getting Bianca Jakkoson back from Melbourne in the future, given she's a bluebagger at heart.

Well, we've got the 7th Victorian pick, and by the time our 2nd pick rolls around, Collingwood will have cashed out (6 picks), and the Dees (4) and Dogs (6) will only have one left each.

As I predicted a while back when we made our trades, it's cost us a shot at Huntington, Molloy or Conti, but thankfully that's about it. Of those three, Conti suits us very well, given her ability to cause problems on the inside and outside of stoppage with her pace.

Will be interesting to see what we can squeeze out of the VFLW, the TAC Girls and whoever has nominated Victoria.

Outside run that can kick is an obvious need, but a more glaring one IMO is cleaner hands and more explosiveness from the stoppage. We really left it to our defenders and forwards to pick up the slack despite our obvious ruck advantage.

There is, but the interstate clubs will get all their picks. They are in seperate draft pools to the Victorian clubs. They probably should have chosen someone new for their first pick.
Adelaide did the same thing by picking Allan first, seemed to be picked on character.

Good choice, although I think we were going to Jenna Bruton, the Doggies just pipped us. Still, Gee played well in the u/18s state of origin.

I'd had a bit of a look at Bruton, and I'm not sure she really would have really added anything new to our midfield.

Riddell was a name floated in the AFL Media articles, and she's still on the board... what's she like?

We needed to get pace and it seems like we did just that. Looking forward to feb!
