For sure after 2 rds, there’s 23 rds
he needs to continue for the whole season.
If he can carry north near finals win a bnf and be top 10 it would start to be a good argument.
Until then he’s degoey like.
He’s best is amazing and more eye catching then brayshaws and Walsh.
But you’re not taking him over plug in and play week in week out self driven future captains especially when you’ve got the number 1 pick.
JHF is more talented then Caleb serong but I’m taking serong everyday of the week

He's the #1 player in the comp for the last 21 weeks according to CD.

B&F's are a stupid argument, he should have won last years, he was like 13th in the voting at the point Noble was sacked and finished second by a few votes, there was obviously some personal issues between the two there, as he was in our best 3 players of the season to that point.....

Awesome if this was a champion data of the last 21 weeks revisit he would go one.
Brayshaw was recognised by he’s peers, club and fans last year
I repeat ldu is a gun but if they swapped resumes and I was championing AB I feel responses would be brutal

As a GWS man, I wonder where others have Sam Taylor. Although clearly not number 1 in the draft, I dont think Id swap him for anyone.

I reckon he has to be top 5, an All Australian and BnF winner.

As a Fullback playing for GWS, that's 2 things working against getting a lot of attention, but in the last year or so people have started to notice him more.

i love him.

At this point he’d be comfortably in my top 5

I’m not denying his talent
AB was the league MVP, AA and 22u22 captain, third consecutive 22u22 guernsey and played 100 games even after getting his face caved in which some never mentally recover from especially their attack on the contest.
LDU has achieved none of that, he’s dominated the last 21 games of football and he has the talent to be number 1.
If gets the runs on the board I’ll be the first to acknowledge.

One of the few defenders who genuinely stops Curnow in a one on one contest. I know he dominated GWS the second time we played last year but your team had a lot of injuries and Charlie was rampaging late last year.

Sam Taylor to me is a more athletic Dylan Grimes.

Looking at this draft class:
  1. Andrew Brayshaw
  2. LDU
  3. Zac Bailey
  4. Tim Kelly
  5. Sam Taylor
  6. Dylan Moore
  7. Aaron Naughton
  8. Adam Cerra
  9. Liam Ryan
  10. Bayley Fritsch
Top 5 are either AA players or clearly players that will feature in an AA team at some point. I may be overrating Bailey a little bit but I view him as a better version of Shai Bolton.

Moore has some X-Factor, I see him being a powerful Midfielder that can go forward and kick goals.

Naughton could be as high as pick one on this list, but his goalkicking is awful. We may revisit this again in a few years and he could be a clear #1 if he cleans that up. Or, even if he goes behind the ball and Darcy takes his spot i50 he could be an AA defender for sure.

Cerra, Ryan and Fritta are very good players but just a touch behind the top 7. BZT at the Bombers could crack the top 10 by years end.

Naughton anywhere below three is an absolute joke and a piss-take of a list. Bloke kicked 51.34 last year, yeah he can get the yips and he's had a bad start to the year kicking-wise, but there's no bigger game-breaker in this draft when he's on. 7 is absolutely hilarious.

51.34 with how many that missed entirely? I'd say plenty of his missed entirely. He is a shocking set shot for goal and it isn't the 'yips' he is just plain awful infront of the sticks. Also just hammers at every contest with no regard for whose in his way, including his own players.

He is a jet, he could be as high as #1 but right now I find it very challenging to see how he could be better than:
3. Bailey: A legit game changer that wins his own footy and impacts the scoreboard.
4. Kelly: A once Brownlow Medal fancy who has featured in an All Australian Team.
5. Sam Taylor: Genuinely the best young KPD in the game. Gun.
6. Dylan Moore: Again, very similar to Bailey/Bolton - a forward of center midfielder that has no problem finding the big sticks.

To put it in context, I wouldn't have Harry Mckay at 3rd in his draft either despite winning the coleman in his 5th season (58 from 19 games in a piss poor side versus Naughton's 51 from 22 games in a side that played finals) He wouldn't even be top 5 in my 2015 re-draft.

I was responding specifically to your point "For sure after 2 rds, there’s 23 rd. he needs to continue for the whole season."

My point was he has done it for an extended period of time.

It's also slightly laughable the insinuation he's been a no hoper for all of his career up until 2022.

Their early years weren't drastically different, especially when factoring in LDU was ravaged with groin and shoulder injuries.

Now Brayshaw went to another level in 2021 clearly, but this whole 3 x AFL 22u22 is a club popularity contest as much as anything.

Probably a few he missed entirely. But aside from goalkicking, Naughton plays a fantastic role further up the ground, and is one of the best forwards at bringing the ball to ground no matter the contest. It's convenient for people to look at the G:B ratio and make a judgement of his success purely based on that, but he has a much broader contribution than many star forwards. The fact is that even with a terrible night in front of goal last night, he still made a great contribution and we probably wouldn't have won without Naughton, and the same can't be said about many KPF's.

Ranking him below Kelly and Dylan ****ing Moore is downright disrespectful IMO. I can see that you tend to value mids higher than forwards, and we probably differ there. Agree to disagree I guess, feel like you'd have a tough time finding many people agreeing that Naughton should be rated below three in this draft, let alone below Kelly and Moore.

I’m taking Naughton at 1 with LDU likely being the only one with any chance of knocking him off top spot.

Naughton’s the best in the comp by a reasonable margin at splitting a pack then landing and following up the loose ball.

Jeez that’s going early. Up until the first two rounds this year he’s probably been one of the worst KPD in the comp when he plays.
Missed the second half of last year then?

You can dunk on your own players all you like, doesn't bother me

To continue dunking. It wouldn’t be hard to stand out as a KPD at Essendon. Laverde, Stewart, Reid, BZT, Hayes and McBride is a very inexperienced and/or injury prone group.

Missed the second half of last year then?

BZT definitely improved from below AFL standard to AFL standard. He was still one of the worst key backs in the comp though.

I struggle to name any AFL regulars that he’s better then based on last years form.

Aidan Corr, Jack Payne, Lewis Young, Jayden Laverde (as a key defender), Charlie Ballard, Sam Frost, Ryan Gardner off the top of my head.

No worries, your 22u22 comment I agree with but brayshaw plays for a club that’s hardly popular, away from the epicentre of afl media and fans.
Unless you have kayo/fox vic residence would have only seen 10-20 of his 100 games.
LDU is building nicely and hope he stays on the park and continues.

Potential recency bias, but Bailey really isn't impressing me lately. Still so much undelivered potential and really hasn't taken that step up into elite territory.

Rating Tim Kelly at 4 just tells me you haven't watched him enough since he left Geelong. He plays 1 good game then another 3 filled with sloppy disposal and no second efforts.

Dylan Moore above Naughton is just baffling. Gun player but nowhere near that level. Spending that much time forward and going at only a goal a game isn't enough production.

Adam Cerra above Liam Ryan and Bailey Fritsch... I know you're a Carlton fan but come on
