Hey fellas,

Anyone considering O Florent as a rookie selection should note the 65ppg average in the u18 carnival. Unsure of his TOG and other details so may be a redundant stat.
It's tempting to think that he could be another Papley, but I'm not sure. Papley's big scores came from lots of contested possessions, score involvements, tackles etc.
3 goals, 5 tackles for 104 points in round 1, 17 touches, 2 goals, 12 contested possessions for 109 points in round 2. Can Florent, who isn't a natural small forward, pull off a couple of those to offset the down games he's inevitably going to have in the forward pocket?
Cedric Cox any chance to be named mate?
It's possible, but I'd be surprised at this stage. Will probably have a few weeks in the NEAFL to work on his defensive game before he gets a look in.

I've done some sums to help decide between low/med/high price rookies, in terms of cash gen:

Player: Price: Avg. Required to Appreciate $150k by R9
Jaeger O'Meara: $318,900: 98
Will Hoskin-Elliot: $213,300: 77
Tim Taranto: $207,300: 75.5
Jack Bowes: $171,300: 69
Dan Houston: $117,300: 58

Great post.

You didn't even show the best example, for players with a start price of $102k such as Eddy.

It's all about the sub $125k rookies. I'm only really interested in the more expensive ones if there doesn't prove to be enough decent options from the sub-$125k bracket.

I've played this game for long enough to have seen the emotional rollercoaster, while everyone moans about their pre-season selections becoming less and less likely for R1, only for more than enough decent cheap options to bob up when the teams drop. Happens literally every year.

Yeah but more expensive rookies arent all bad. Darcy Parish last year for example was able to hit 330k pretty quick and I was able to pocket 200k when a cheap rookie become available.

Yep expensive players too with experience alleviate that unknown risk too. And you pay for that knowledge.

Parish is a freak.

I reckon he'll avg 95-100 this year.

All true. But picking the right rookie(s) from the more-expensive end of town is often harder to do than from the cheaper end of town, where a scrubby 55 average will still enable a decent profit. Plenty of expensive rookies end up with a scrubby 55 average and little to no profit each year.

Can someone please explain in detail what this loophole thing is by setting a vc and picking a player that scores 0 or something to see which player scores more im new to sc so not sure how to do it and go about it???

Is there any other teams named? Wondering why fox have league teams on tonight if they only have one game to do.
Because going through all the spuds playing tomorrow night will take longer than going through all the other games put together.

Petrevski-Seton's stats in the WAFL from last season are very solid.

Averaged the following -
23 disposals
4 marks
5 tackles

Tempting. The fact they've thrown him into the team this soon I think speaks of how highly they think of him and how keen they are to get games into him.

Hmmm

In don't think you could do it, it would be like going balls deep into a Grey Street hooker without a rubber, let alone double bagging it.
