Long time reader, first time posting. Might be a bit wild so be gentle. Would swapping our pick 1 and 12 to crows for there picks 10 16 and cameron be a possible idea. We still have 4 picks in top 20 plus ( 10 16 18 20 ) plus cameron who is rated about 20ish. Crows get over losing lever and cameron as they have the no 1 pick

So basically pick 16 and Cameron for pick 1?
Yeah good idea..

Seems very complicated and excessive for a deal that could simply be a straight swap for pick 20.

We need to get Aaron Mullet and Anthony Miles these trade period. Bargain picks ups.

Aaron Mullet is too good of a player to be delisted. At 25 years of age, 85 games, he averaged 20 disposals these year off 18 games. The real asset I think he will bring to our club is he's ability to gain yardage. Mullet's average metres gained per game stacks up well, when compared to the elite players of the comp. Lions were ranked bottom 4 in the comp. AFL already reported he's keen on a refresh start and willing to move anywhere for that opportunity. Would cost us nothing.

Looks like he made his high yardage against us when we sub consciously may not have been at our best in the last game.

North delisting Gibson and Mullett says to me they've commited to a long rebuild. Both are serviceable, afl-level players
I don't think they have much choice after pretty much every available player rejected their efforts to splash the cash.

As far as Hartung goes, I suppose we will have to see what Fagan thinks. He would know his game and potential better than anyone.

He looks good here:

(Check out his running at 27 seconds into this clip and again at 1.33 in and again at 1.50 in. We need that sort of speed and it looks like he knows how to bust a line to me.)

(Some strong tackling in these highlights - I can't see him avoiding contact here).

Hartung is a spud. We have plenty of those on our list already.

The biggest problem here is that your relying on highlights to put your point across on Hartung. If I spent half an hour and put together all of Josh Green's highlights, having never seen him before, you would think he was the biggest superstar to play the game. This goes for the Charlie Cameron highlights video too.

Hartung barely gets the ball and when he does he butchers it. Has a pretty good burst of speed but that doesn't matter when you're a midfielder who can't get the ball.

Can we please stop on all these delisted/soon to be delisted players?? These guys might improve our NEAFL team, but they certainly aren't helping us get to the next premiership

Welcome. Also, I'm sorry, but that is terrible.

Lol.

We are gonna need some kind of proof you're not really a crows supporter

 Video evidence clearly contradicts this. Hartung has played 63 games at Hawthorn at a time when they have had one of the best lists going around. Hawthorn also isn't a club that is renown for persisting with spuds. While Hartung has been at Hawthorn they have won two Premierships and finished the Home and Away Season 2, 3, 3 and 12th. Clearly during a period like this competition for a game is tight and if he has played 63 of them then he aint no Sam Sheldon.

As for doesn't get the ball, his numbers have improved every year of his career. You might want to look at these stats: https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pp-hawthorn-hawks--billy-hartung

Let's see what happens. If he ends up at the Lions it is because Fagan and Noble want him and sorry Chezz and others, under those circumstances I would be prepared to back their judgement over yours. If he doesn't end up at Brisbane then c'est la vie.

While Hartung has been at Hawthorn they have won two premierships?? LOL. He's played 2 finals totalling 5 and 8 disposals as the sub. Never played in a GF. Just playing for Hawthorn does not make him a gun. Based off your analysis, Zac Dawson played for Hawthorn and actually played in St Kilda Grand Final teams... Must have been an absolute superstar!! Give me a break

The point being they were an elite team and he was getting a plenty of senior games after his first season. Just like any Brisbane player who played 63 games during 2001 - 2004 would have had to be a very good footballer to hold a spot. You are entitled to your views and you can shape shift and digress all you like, but there is just too much evidence contradicting what you said in post #6008 to take you too seriously on this issue.

Back you on this KZ....Lot of so called football flesh experts on this forum. We should open a chippery with the amount of spuds going round in the AFL ...Anyhow as Hartung & Whitecross were on our radar last year I took more than a passing interest in what they can do..

Got given free AFL tickets to several Hawthorn games the 1st game neither played...Whitecross struggled to get on the park this year and when he did.. I wasn't aware he was actually playing.....Hartung on the other hand impressed... He did what was asked of him as a run with player.. He does have pace and exhibited it with a couple of great chase downs and tackles that had the pompous AFL Hawk fans in rapture calling "bravo' ...He does have a penetrating kick ...

Happy to back our coaching group in on him and every faith that at 21 they can fine tune him..

Some of these delisted players have reasonable runs on the board so far and are a better bet for where we are at than 4th round+ picks.

Great post Football Pope. Have you ever considered joining the Over 50's Clique? If you are not old enough, I am happy to hold a place for you.

I had a look at his highlights reels for the last few seasons and he looks like a more composed version of Taylor. Good penetration on his kicking and his speed appears to be a great asset busting lines. Would be a good link player as we transition the ball from defense to inside 50 and he knows where the goals are. Bottom line is that nobody is going to know more about him than Fagan and if we go for him, that will mean that he is worth the effort. At 22 years of age, he is in the right age profile.

You must be his Dad / Brother or family friend to be wanting him, give it up we don't want another spud, we are better off trying the draft

I feel prejudiced by the numerous Over 50's Clique references. Did you once stop and think about how everyone under 50 might feel?
