Or we pay Rockliff more on the agreement you trade pick 15 for Cameron would work for both parties.

Now we're talking. Make it pick 18 though ;)

The difference between winning and losing - Richmond vs Lions third quarter -D Martin. Someone who can influence the game and stand up when it counts. Inspire the young midfield .teach them (like above) the game is not over until the final siren and anything is possible, just back your talent. If we get ballanden I suggest trade close. Run the list one short make an offer where Richmond cannot match. I say revenge is sweet and this one is payback, for their play on schache . Go the lions. The future is bright and one our number pick ,our other very own Dusty .C Rayner. Learn from the master.

There is a few Rayner, LDU, Dow and probably more that i haven't mention, Some might not be too powerful but speed is a must in our mid IMO
Rayner simply doesn't have the tank to play even moderate midfield minutes. He might develop one, or he might not. Right now, think purely a forward version of Dusty Martin.

LDU is a slightly larger and faster version of a healthy Rockliff.

I'm not sure of a player comparison for Dow. He has a good mix of attributes, from reports he needs to work a little bit on his hand balling and kicking. If he was just a little taller, he'd be the ideal modern inside mid.

Nope not when you're getting pick 2 compo.

Let me tell you about Respect- Round 8 1995 Fitzroy vs Adelaide. Underdogs cause an upset. (9 goal last term I believe), before you come out with absolute waffle. Rocky deserves Respect as player. He has a very good CV so when adelaide want to talk about an offer worthy of Respect then get back to us. No Respect ,then the answer is simple ,stick to your Adelaide board.

Whats the chance of Dow growing a little taller? Only 17/18 so still possible. Hippy continued growing after he was drafted.

Not quite. Might work if the Lions were inquiring about say Mackay and Cameron. Not sure what band 1 requirements are now since CBA was signed off.

Mate there is no chance of us enquiring about Mackay. He'd struggle to get kicks in the SANFL, how he has played over 150 games is truly staggering, especially in such a decent side. I'm pretty sure the other 16 teams wouldn't pick him up if delisted

Cameron is not worth 15

To be fair, he knows that. The logic being that they make sure we get the highest compo for Rockliff to even it all out.

It isn't going to happen anyway, so not worth getting upset about.

Another Xavier Richards?
The Swans grand final player that got an new contract offer but instead requested a trade, but there was no interest. Went to the drafts but still no interest and essentially ended his own AFL career.

Can't imagine anyone else would be keen on Close.

I'd be surprised if no interest was shown in Close personally. Would be a good fit at Richmond or Collingwood. Still only 22 and missed a whole year through an ACL. Was injury plagued as junior. I still think he has a fair bit of development to come.

Put him in a side like Richmond where he'd be getting the second tall forward every week and decent delivery from the midfield, I think he'd be a reliable sort without being a world beater.

Personally feel he's a better option than Walker and Freeman.

Cotter, assuming Richmond are interested would you take a pick or player swap.if a player swap who would you want? Or pick what do you think we would get. I myself would go for someone we can develop young and has speed. Basically I want someone who has potential, who fits our requirements i.e. Age , scope to develop, speed, so I would go player swap and would go Shai Bolton.
Many thanks in advance

Close's value is probably a pick in the third round at this point. A mid-late second rounder at best if a couple of clubs are desperate for a tall with some pre-seasons under the belt.

I would be more inclined to go for someone with just a little more age than Bolton.
A small forward like Dan Butler played 14 games kicked 20 goals this year and at 21 has still got some decent development in him yet.
To be honest there is not many on Richmond's list that excite me really.
A pick would help to get Ballenden though.

Had no idea Rocky had been playing that long. Definitely past it.

Haha.like it. the point I was making ,is never treat the lion with contempt. Or think we will accept mediocrity because we are a battling club. Adelaide went into that game thinking how far . They underestimated the spirit of The of lion ,thought we were easy beats. I watched the game and thought wow that defines the true meaning of character. I am really impressed with the new management at the lions and if people think we are going to accept ridiculous offers for our players again , I feel under this management, they can think again.Rocky ,although I am not a fan ,does deserve to be recognised for his achievements which many other players have failed to achieved in their careers. He is worthy of a 1st rounder pure and simple. Anything less is a disgrace.

Not a lot on their list I'd be interested in. Bolton for Close in a straight swap wouldn't be fair for Richmond as Bolton's shown a bit in his first year and does indeed have a lot of talent. I'd probably look at Graham or Miles.

In terms of picks, Close's values probably a late second/early third. Hasn't yet done enough to be considered worthy of anything higher.

Conor Menadue.... a quick wing type player, seems to be on the edge of Richmonds best 22.

Would like to get Charlie into the club at the end of year, but not sure I'd personally be willing to give up a top 20 for him. Understand he's contracted but hope we don't give up too much.

Crows are a damn good side at the moment and he's not doing a whole lot more then a goal a game this year.
