Playing as the 5th best forward is the best attacking team is a much easier role than back flanker in the worst defensive team.

Playing the 2nd small role to someone who will go down as an all time great isn't that easy either.

Eh I dunno, from the Crows games I've seen this year he seems to play a lot higher up the ground than Betts and his inside 50 & rebound 50 numbers sort of support it, not sure if he'd play the same role with us or if he'd stay closer to goal though.

Just checked and he's had 6 games with 3 or more goals. 1 against us which was this year.

For comparison, we only have 4 current players with more bags of 3+ than Charlie's 6 times from 70 games (Beams 15 in 147 games, Zorko 11 in 122 games, Walker 8 in 60 games, and Bastinac 7 in 159 games).

*Sigh*, one day we'll have good forwards again and we will stop calling 3 goals a bag. We've now gone 4 complete seasons without anyone kicking 5 (Ash McGrath with 6 in the last round of 2013).

You're right. Also Freo this year, Bombers last. Not against the best opposition.

Average just over a goal a game in that team isn't great. Richmond has found similar quality small forwards off the rookie list. That's the path that we should take.

Is more of an interceptor than a lock down key back from what I've seen. Will turn 30 next year I think.

Cox apparently is better suited as a 1st ruck... hard to get the opportunity with Grundy though. Can see why we would be interested in the big Cox. If we get him then I think Smith is finished (probably would be even if we didn't though...) and Oscar will be great competition for Cox.
