Well he is a restricted agent for one.so we can renew his contract.

Maybe he doesn’t want to be traded or renew? What then?

Maybe we need to trade him in case he suffers a horrific injury and needs to retire? We can continue to make up permutations. Best thing is just not to worry.

I would hope that those who are paid top dollar to get the list where it needs to be would be doing a bit of thinking and worrying.

But footy is an emotional interest for many people and they invest a lot into it. The 'she'll be right mate' view doesnt cut it for some people on BF.

The clubs circling Gaff will be trying to get him on the cheap, not pay market value for him. I don't see any point in having any discussions with them about it. They are not going to magically offer us two first rounders or anything like that. Our only real choice is to hold on to him, try and get him to resign and if he wants to go in 12 months time then we have to cross that bridge when we come to it.

One question i have is how are Fremantle going to get these deals done for Matera and Wilson? Assuming they will refuse to part with pick 5, they have very little trading capital. Why are we not in there showing interest in these guys, if for no other reason than just to drive up the price on them?

And why would be interested in Fasolo? Second tier player and already mid 20's so he never be a first tier player. Plus he has admitted to having sever mental health issues. Way too much risk for me. We already have a few blokes on our list who we drafted in who look they are just playing footy for the pay cheque and have no real commitment to it. No trading for Fasolo as far as i am concerned.

Got a mate at the club who basically has filled me in on a couple things. Apparently we are quite happy with our list progression and hope that a few decent top ups will get us over the line in 2018. Pick 13 is definitely on the table and we could be trading it for two second rounders. This would give us the ability to get fasolo, conca and watts with our three second rounders. Gaff is as good as gone to the hawks apparently for hartung/Strating and a pick/picks in 2018 draft. We are also hoping to get ahchee with our third and fourth rounder.

As far as the rookie list goes we are quite keen on Ben Kennedy (former demon), Jansen (former lion), and josh Cowan from geelong. They are all experienced and fill a need.

Going by his info our best 22 next year could be:

Hurn, eMac, welling ham
Yeo, gov , duggan
Masten redden hartung
Vardy shuey shred
Watts darling B Kennedy
Fasolo JJK cripps

Inter: conca Cowan Jansen barrass

Quite an exciting team I think. The bonus is that we haven't gone too far the other way. Our focus next year will be the players intent and putting in s four quarter effort.

I asked my mate about Tim Kelly and he said the club could rookie him if he's still available but the club are aware that the gap between afl and wafl is big so his game might not translate. Same pretty much goes for liam Ryan

If we do keep pick 13 we are heavily into naughton Balta or Stephenson if they are available. The club rates balta in particular very highly

So yeah some super exciting times coming up for our club

FTFY. Being gifted 2 home games didn't hurt either. They were involved in a lot of games that ran very close, if a few didn't go their way they'd have missed finals again this season, similar to a certain 2016 premier club.

Hate to tell you but the actually only won 1 game by under 2 goals and lost four, so actually more likely they would have finished top if they didn't Richmond those early games against Freo and GWS

I've watched Kelly in the wafl a few times, he is one of those players that just move so well. He gets the tough ball, has beautiful disposal but the biggest plus is his ability to lift those around him. I want him, not in a dark sharks way, but I'd part with a second for sure
