2017 trade hypothetical thread

Fair enough don't think you can go wrong either way. You'd have your academy kid too.
That's the idea. Two early picks before having to match a bid on Ballenden.

We could even carry over a 300 points deficit from matching a first round bid on Ballenden in to 2018 without it seriously effecting our 2018 first rounder.

We also have two other rated academy kids in Jack Payne (KPD) and Jack Clayton (HBF) that the phantom drafters haven't got on their boards.

band 1 wont need adjusting as a club requires the offer to put the player in the top 5% paid players over 25 years of age to activate it. the amount required will adjust automatically as players salaries go up.
intetesting that you say he's not worth that much and the suggest he may be worth that much to your team. suspect that your salary cap may not allow you to have a go at him but he would be great for the swans. allow tippett to play 80% up forward and not get injured as much. no more sinclair or naismith. you would be immeasurably better.

I'd take Kreuzer ... awesome number 2 Ruckman and I think he can play forward. I would pay that tad extra to get Blues a band 1 so they dont stand in your way.

I think you'll find a lot of clubs do deals like the Vickery one where they offer large numbers for 2 years and then the next contract he gets will be significantly less. That way the club losing the player gets as high pick as possible and the receiving club still pay the same contract amount, just front loaded in 2 seperate deals.

"He's worth bugger all" so he adds bugger all to that deal. Lever is the most promising key defender in the AFL and is worth a lot more than pick 11.
Very few players in the AFL go for under pick 10. Marchbank & Pickett went for a geelong 2017 1st pick. I would think 11 + Dunstan would be enough if he dominated the saints

Those two weren't playing first grade. If you're comparing it to they trade Lever is worth 2 first round draft picks. Easy
Ffs not every good out of contract youngster is worth 2 first round picks. Some are but most aren't and Levers in that category. A first and change would do it. He's out of contract.

Was talking to my brother about him recently.

Wouldn't mind taking a punt on him for the correct price.

Not sure if it's in your best interest to trade since I'd say 2017 third rounder and upgrading your 2018 4th rounder for our third rounder would be about fair for what he's shown at the Pies.

I can imagine your wanting a second rounder though.

Think there's talent there, really rated him before the draft and not sure where it's gone wrong for him
Pick 40-45 plus an upgrade late next year, it probably isn't good enough value for us I wouldn't think. I'd be hoping for a straight pick around 25-30 but I don't think a club would give that up for Aish.

What's Mathieson going for, Brisbane fans? Can imagine Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon would be big on him, especially the latter who have Darcy Parish, his best mate.
Contracted to the end of 2019, not going anywhere IMO. Makes all the right noises and loves it up here. Young Darcy Parish can come up here if he's missing Rhys.

I thought it was 2018, can't see him leaving then if he locked himself in until then. I'm a big fan and think he'll be very good.

Why isn't he playing seniors?
Been injured and only just come back into the NEAFL side the last 2 weeks. His issue is his tank which he has been working on.

Yep, he signed an extension pretty early in the piece IIRC (ah la Jarrod Berry:)) he's a very popular boy up here, the fans love him.

You paid that for aish when he came to you, and he hasn't done anything to maintain that value. You might get lucky though, he has some good performances in his career and was a high draft pick so somebody could take him.
