2017 trade hypothetical thread

There doesn't seem to be many trade hypotheticals in this thread so Id thought id have a go.
I thinks Jack Watts would be a very good value recruit for Richmond. His best is stilly very good in my view, but I don't think he has a ton of trade value.
So: How about:
Richmond trade Pick 17 to Melbourne in exchange for Pick 27 and Watts.
Richmond then trade Pick 27 and Miles to Gold Coast for Pick 22.
Pick 22 should still guarantee them Naish even if there is an earlier than anticipated bid on him as not many experts have Naish in the top 15 players in terms of ratings.
Melbourne could then trade picks 10 and 17 to get the deal done for Lever.
I think Melbourne fans dramatically underestimate how good Lever is and how much risk there is of teams swooping in if they offer a significant deal from the get go to recruit Lever. (Like Melbourne did when Freo stuffed up the Clark trade a few years ago).
Richmond could then still take pick 15 to the draft while gaining needed help for J.Riewolt in their Premiership defence before the draft even happens.
Im ny view this would be a win for all clubs involved. Gold Coast also gain some protection for their young inside mids with the addition of Miles.

Gold Coast should be into young very much, but don't see them as being interested in down grading picks at all. They would likely want to go the other way and upgrade picks.

Gold Coast wouldjust offer something like pick37 for young , lobbe. I would take that too.

Why would Port want shaw? If young ah chee have trouble cracking our side shaw is going to struggle getting a game for the magpies.

In my opinion Gold Coast are looking young and build young talent in the draft but I think they want to build their list with some player who are in their playing prime eg 26-28yo. I think both GWS and Gold Coast have made a mistake in getting the Johnson Heath Shaws Barlow Rosa at the end type players. What they need is role players to complement the young talent and then maybe a couple old guys.
As for Shaw I see him as an outside player with pace and experience something that we need. Brought in totally as a role player and one that might not be used a lot.
Regarding what we get for who I think people are too short termist Young had a good season last year true his form fell away this year but his role was taken by S Gray. Sure him and Lobbe aren't worth bundles but they aren't worth jack shit either and our aim should be 1 Get free agents signed away 2. Get some $ off the salary cap 3. Trade Watts if we can get the cap $ and that he wants to come and then get the pick we need for him 4. Try and either get an extra pick next year or upgrade what we have this year.
Considering what we have to work with that might be difficult but we can't give away players for nicks if possible while not being completely stupid about it either. Gold Coast have 2,19 before the 2 picks I mentioned. They are moving on a few guys who have a bit of currency and could upgrade those picks or others they have as they have 35 and 37 too. Maybe the trade would be to upgrade our 47 and whatever we get for Ah Chee into Gold Coast 35 and or 37. But I doubt those picks would help us get Watts.

We got rid of Vickery, and our list is built on manic pressure and constant hard work. Does the lazy, pea-heart, Jack Watts fit that mould? I doubt it.

Points are irrelevant unless you need them for father son or academy. At the end of the day you wouldn't throw away the chance to get a young kid at pick 25 for Puopolo and a pick 40 odd...especially in this draft.

Proven small forward on the way out. He wouldn't be in the best 25 GWS players when they are fully fit
