I dont even want to watch Sydney v Carlton. Who thought that was a good idea.

They might need to think about a rotating fixture, espeically later in the year. Have a rough guide of which team is playing Sat or Sunday and then move matches to timeslots 3 months ahead.

If you want Friday night to be a marquee, then you need a good match up. I don't watch footy just because it is on a Friday night.
Im with you they should be able to schedule the best matches on Fridays.I will watch tomorrow nights match but as soon as it gets boring or a blowout ill switch off.

There will be 8 bays of seating available for GA walk ups on the night though so not really sold out.

Probably 3-4,000 seats available for walk ups I understand.....
MCG website says GA bays in Ponsford stand are for Essendon, Richmond away members and pre purchased GA tickets (rear half of bays). Q1-5 are for walk up I’m guessing. Ticketek is a strange beast

First they said 5 bays GSS and 3 CITY END but demand has been up in last week. Very limited seating left...At a guess 1-2K max!

PUBLIC TICKETS SOLD OUT
UPDATE: All public tickets have now sold out.

There will be a very limited number of general admission seats and standing room available for eligible Essendon/Richmond members to access, subject to capacity and availability.

Equivalent fixture last year had and attendance of 38,965, hopefully near or around the mark tonight.

Unless corrected, they haven’t even released the seats in the GSS Q1-5. There’s 600 seats per bay (3,000). Then halfway back in Q34-36 at 400 seats per bay (1,200). I still stand by 4,000 seats available for walk ups!

That’s good if that’s the case they are only available to Ess and Richmond members). Not General public

AFL RESERVE there’s bout 400/500 seats max over 3 bays but only 9 rows per bay!
From row U to DD

Looks like the Swans band waggon could be up and running. Sydney people just love a winner.

27,351 tonight where were the other 20,000? That earlier report must have been wrong and there were a lot of the swans fans missing that are usually behind the goals not there either.
Still I suppose a lot better than the 10,400 at the NRL game at ANZ between two Sydney teams.

It seemed a strange tweet. I don't think there are many general admission seats for non-members available for swans games.

Think the turnout would reflect lots of members giving the game a miss and reserved seat pricing dissuading neutrals and away supporters from attending.

Swans last 3 home games all been sub-30k when they only had 7 SCG games sub-30 in the 2015-17 period.

Maybe the teams they’ve played haven’t been the biggest drawcards but it does seem Swans crowds have dropped off this season compared to past few years. Not really sure why.

Another terrible Docklands crowd <30k. It's like a broken record.
Lets hope with Disney on board with their Marvel brand that they and the AFL can breathe some life into the failing Docklands.
There is not much wrong with the facility so hopefully it can be turned around into a great place to go to watch our game.

Hawks crowd of 13,007 is their lowest at York Park against Port. It continues the downward trend for Hawthorn against basically every other team in Launceston.

Don’t know if it’s the conditions or what but it seems like 90% if the games down there are scrappy and horrible to watch. Unless you are a fan of either side playing there would be nothing to entice neutral Tasmanians to attend

There are 9 teams that have played Hawthorn multiple times in Tassie.

6 of those teams had their lowest crowd the very last time they played there.
2 more had their lowest crowd the 2nd last time they played there.
The Western Bulldogs lowest crowd was the 3rd last time (out of 5).

The graph below might be a little difficult to read because of the number of teams, but I think you can see the clear downward trend of every line.

Is 28K really that bad??

Bulldogs are playing shocking footy playing at home against a team who have the most MCC members and hence never travel to docklands. I reckon that crowd would be about average for these clubs at docklands.
You would think played at the G there would have been close to 40,000 with the many MCC members who are Dees fans turning up that dont go to Docklands.
