Have I missed something or am I caught up in nostalgia, Josh Daicos has not been mentioned, kids all class, watch out.

He will be but probably another year off really stepping up in his 3rd year. Next year I expect him to get more game time and have pure class moments but still likely be inconsistent in output in his 2nd year.

If Maynard and De Goey get more midfield minutes i wonder where the likes of Pendles/Treloar will be resting

Pendles might start seeing more time forward or off HB like when he was carrying an injury. Treloar coming in off a wing would be interesting to see too, allowing him to be more outside.

Looks pretty happy in photo with Adams and Grundy
I don't think it's that he is disgruntled as such. I think that other clubs are going to come for him hard with large bags of money now that the high profile FA are off the table.

2 extra goals per game will see us inside the 8 on this years performance. We need quality forward entries, Pendlebury (who has been carrying a series of niggles), Wells and WHE fed by Adams and DeGoo will get that job done. One of Brown/Kirby with a license to roam the forward line crumbing the talls will give us more bite around the forward packs. Moore and Grundy to provide marking in the forward /half forward area - going both ways to slow the occasional exit. Add a fit Elliot to that mix and it has potent possibilities.

But it needs proper drilling and it needs a half way decent run of injuries to key players to allow it to find fluidity and function.

That is without trading anyone in.

Degoey will feed the forward line he is a centre break player ditto Maynard, both play good contested games but not *bottom of pack* types like Adams, Greenwood etc.

Well all we can do is hope follows lead of Grundy and Cox

There's a level of optimism about us if things go our way and players continue to develop.

If Cox can continue to develop up forward and Grundy could continue what he showed in the last game then those two combined with Moore gives us talls to work with and allows Reid to go back.

Crisp and Scharenberg continuing to develop off half back allows Maynard to possibly spend more time in the middle where he and De Goey could be a point of difference to our midfield.

This then allows Pendles to come off a wing and him and a fit Wells could improve our delivery and connection to the forwards helping Elliott, Kirby and hopefully Fasolo at the feet of the talls.

Another preseason for WHE and Wells with the team helps improve their output further.

All big ifs.... but look at Richmond.

Astbury and Grimes finally got some continuity and their back line improved.

Caddy and Prestia come in and free up Martin and Cotchin

Vlaustin and Ellis improve with another years development. Castagna and butler get game time.

They'd all have been big ifs at the start of the year.

Fas's mo is pretty ordinary. Is that Oxley back right?

Here’s hoping Darcy puts on ATLEAST 8kg.
Boy better start hitting the gym after this holiday.

Hopefully we have people in know who can Actually Make our Players Stronger

We should expect some big improvement from our 2013 and 2014 drafts

Berg
Aish
Langdon
DeGoey
Moore
Maynard

All six should have better 2018s than their 2017 output.

A couple make the jump to real top liners and we are back in finals.

If they don't lift, well time to rebuild again...confident they can come on, even Aish.

I like that a big group of them decided to all go away together. There has been so many little seperate groups in previous years. Seems like there’s a good group of guys really clicking with each other now. Fingers crossed it translates on-field.

Definitely think that's a 2017 'rat pack'.

He still doesn't have the physical attributes at this stage to consistently impact on games, especially if the opposition starts taking him seriously - another couple of pre-seasons and some game time at AFL level this year should hopefully sort that out though.

Same thing goes for Brown - they both need some more core / upper body strength and some burst speed and agility to realise their potential, which will come in time.
