Instead of Hayes I would have preferred we go for someone with a bit more upside like Stack but all in all pretty happy with the draft.

What we've brought in are 4 players who are ready to contribute next year.

Our 2016 premiership was built on a deep list and competition for spots which we haven't had the last 2 years. Hopefully our additions help to see us rise up the ladder and get more out of the whole list.
Power spoke very high of Hayes said his GPS numbers are very good both in distance and top speed, maybe it came down to the devil you know with his selection?

Agree. Last year we seemed to have a deep-ish list on paper - until you took into account the players whose injuries had effectively ended their careers (Clay, Red and possibly Picken and Webb), players who had probably checked out mentally well before season's end (Dahl, Biggs), honest triers who didn't add anything (Honeychurch, BTC, Collins), and those whose best had passed them by (Roughy).

Does anyone here learn from previous drafts? Dayle Garlett? Dwayne Wilson? Willie Rioli back in his draft year?

It's not uncommon for a highly rated aboriginal player to be passed on by everyone in the ND. There's every chance clubs are concerned about something behind the scenes, but that never stops literally every supporter asking why their club didn't take that player, then proceeding to suggest they should take him in the rookie draft.

Bit harsh on flipper83 - he said Stack had upside, didn't ask why we didn't take him, and 2-3 people suggesting Stack as a rookie vs 'literally every supporter' is a tad hyperbolic. ;)

Why does no one rate Will Hayes?

Do they watch VFL ?

Ready to play AFL and will play 16-20 games this season.

Consider Long and Hannam went in the twenties- what a steal!
Us VFL watchers got booed out during eariler draft threads so we chillin with this win

Who does he play ahead of for 16-20 games? I’ve seen a few VFL games and he seems a very good player at that level but I don’t see any traits that will stand out at afl. I would love to be wrong as it’s a great story and great considering the effort he’s put in. When watching the Willy game I thought Cavarra and a couple of the other Willy players were much more afl like players.

That linked me to a sub-forum, so not 100% sure which thread you meant, but I was referring to only 2-3 posters on here suggesting Stack as a rookie pick. If he's related to Brennan Stack, I'm happy to pass. If he is part of the Rioli clan however...
Oh, well it's just the link when you search 'stack' on the forum index right now. Matches on all team boards, and there's a fair bit.

Idk, maybe I just react badly to deja vu. I've already seen this whole routine before with Dayle Garlett (which was way worse).

I'm hoping for Dillon OReilly in the Rookie draft.

Outside of the main list and rookies, could we also list all of Khamis, Chatfield, Dawson as Cat Bs and William as a former Afl listed player?

Pretty sure the rookie draft got moved to 5:10pm, though the first selection hasn't taken place yet

Edit: has started now
