List Mgmt. 2018 Draft Prospects aka the West and Khamis thread

I assume, possibly wrongly, that we have previously given the likes of Smith etc a medical? Or is this highly unusual and a sure sign?

All the kids have just finished their exams so clubs get the next couple of days for direct testing and interviews.
Its likely any targeted testing or interviews to be done today or tomorrow.

I know that Port will be meeting with Ben King and the King family later today.

Given we will have to wait until the hyphen in a couple of years to get a highly rated tall in (and we have a bunch of mids/runners as FS/NGA types) Ben King may be the better longer term option over Smith.

If we are thinking it Mofra so are the teams above us, 4, 5 and 6 shapes this draft.

who is the hyphen?
Jamarra Ugle-Hagan. Get on the hype train now.

He's listed as 193cm but some say he's grown to 195cm this year, 2020 draft eligible from memory. Freakishly quick, tied to us via the NGA. Dual sided. Can jump and run.

Plus we have the McPherson brother coming through who is already a 190cm mid FS eligible kid who captained a rep side.
Next year we have both Romero & Kellett eligible, not sure who else.

They aren't in our situation as far as I know i.e. spending most of our picks on FS/NGA kids in the 2019 & 2020 drafts.

Ollie? Last I heard he was dominating under 15s. Time flies.
Joshua Kellett - (2019 Draft)
Oliver Liberatore (2019 Draft)
Tyler Kolyniuk (2019 Draft)
Daniel Romero (2019 Draft)

King and Smith!
Sounds like 7 and 27 to gws for 9 and 11 is on the cards!
King at 9 Smith at 11

Isn’t it unlikely that either would be there at those picks, let alone both ???

Bailey Smith at WO.

Happy to hear this. Ive probably leant towards Smith all along.

Starting to move away from him though.
Mofra made a decent point about our concerns with Caldwell and injury yet not many concerned that a 17yo has an overdues foot/ankle injury.
A 17yo mind you that would appear to be obsessive about his preparation (not always a bad thing of course).

Whats starting to play on me is this "I want to stay at home" factor.
Trust me when I say this but Smith also suggested to the Cats that he'd rather stay in the family home than move away to Geelong.
He has been pretty adament with non Melbourne clubs about this desire.

I wonder whats behind it ? I just hope he is resilient enough to be able to cope with set backs or things not going his way.

Who of those are likely to be picked up?
all projected to be late to rookie picks
All 4 of them played TAC this year as under agers which is a great sign

Word is that if Rozee gets through to our pick Adelaide will be on the phone to us to trade up.
Pray for Rozee to get through...

We are not a massive fan of Caldwell
