Time will tell... i think frost will go/retire. Then we will have 4.
Yes might be best for him.. not sure another couple of hits in the head be good for his future.

Bastinac the interesting one if we kept Beams and got Neale he be even more on the outer.
Now might actually get some first game time.

Trade Gold Coast Future Second, Pies Future First and pick 35 to GWS for 11 and 19.

11: Jordan Clark/Jye Caldwell.
18: Liam Stocker/Curtis Taylor.
19: Chayce Jones/Xavier Duursma/Ely Smith

30: Tom Berry
56: McFadyen.

Get it done Noble. ;)

We have three list spots.

Must get: Curtis Taylor, Berry, McFayden.
If we can manufacture a way to win Cameron, happy days.
If space: Coleman.

I find your obsession with drafting best friends and brothers of existing players a little cringe tbh.

If you think the club is going to be that blinkered with their drafting, you are going to be disappointed.

Geez I hope so, because we've sold the farm on this years draft and somewhat on next years draft.

Next years draft looks no where near as good as this one, not too concerned about it. Frost should and probably is currently being pushed to retire, leaving us with another spot.

I trust Nobes, a lot of people on here questioned some of his decisions, but it’s clear he has a plan.

I'm not prepared to make judgement on next years draft yet. Just because it hasn't received that same amount of attention as this years did from 18 months out doesn't mean it's a poor draft.

Out of curiosity, have you read my post on the previous page on my view of our current draft hand, and what might happen to our picks at the draft?

With Beams' salary off the books now surely we can afford to pay out Frost and possibly Basti (although his depth could be handy)
I love the idea of trading up in this years draft with the commodities that we have next season! This is only just beginning!!!

I am hoping that something like this happens. If it does then at the end of the day I would be able to sit back and say that overall the trade/draft period was a success as currently I am struggling to.

Yep!

Are people really already claiming that the 2019 draft crop will be a weak draft; this far out?

Happens every year Dylan. I wouldn’t say Clubs rate it as high as this one but it’s far to early to be calling it as a weak one.

Yep!

I think we’ve done well either way. Ultimately I’d like us to try and trade up the order but I wouldn’t lose sleep if it didn’t happen.

Love it, I know some don't like the continual bringing up of the draft points comparison but assuming the Suns future 2nd is pick 20 and the Magpies future 1st is 16 that turns out a slight points win for the Giants and well worth it for us IMO particularly considering this was supposed to be the last year of us hitting the draft hard, 3 in the top 20 would be superb.

Of your options I'd like Jye Caldwell, Liam Stoker and Chayce Jones + Berry and McFadyen would be a 10/10 Trade and Draft period IMO.

I'm a big fan of Clark as well but if Caldwell is there at 11 he'd be too good to knock back as I think we are still short on midfield depth and class going forward, in 2-3 years Zorko will be most likely retired.

This will leave us short in next years draft which I don't mind, go hard at FA Stephen Coniglio next year.

Geez I hope so, because we've sold the farm on this years draft and somewhat on next years draft.

I think it was reasonable to do so considering we absolutely nailed the last two and have supplemented with Neale et al this year. Very happy to balance things age-wise.

Suggested Caldwell but I see him going as early as 6.

Clark, Jones and Smith/Stocker would be my preferred 3 from that lot assuming Caldwell is gone.

Smith has a good all round game and runs defensively which will appeal to our recruiters. He is a nice size and performed well in a VFL game for Collingwood this year with 15 disposals, 3 tackles and a goal.

It's so hard to even guess who might be available at our current first selection. Do we go best talent still on board or look to fill a need?

We still need midfield depth and another class small defender.

I'm not sold on Rayners mate Curtis Taylor. He's one of those who's more likely to be there at our first pick, but really doesn't fill a need.

I'd love Jordan Clark, but feel he won't get our first pick.

Xavier Duursma and Chayce Jones top my list of those who might still be on board, but feel they'll be gone as well.

Which means I'm left choosing from Curtis Taylor, Ely Smith or Ned McHenry. Each offers something different, probably comes down who's the highest on our draft board.

If we haven't had to use our second pick to match a bid on McFadyen, i am drafting Thomas Berry.

Liam Stocker for me at 18.Good size skills and improves our midfield depth coming along reasonably quickly imo.Hopefully Duursma still available with pick 30 half back good user with pace.Mcfadyen and Coleman round out our draft.
