Just for Gromma’s benefit, the alleged incident of Scrim playing games on his phone was when he was supposed to be watching an AFL match as a learning experience. It wasn’t in a meeting. It also said it wasn’t an isolated incident. He may want to stop doing that at his next club, although I don’t think Hawthorn’s culture is really as good as they claim.

I've never in our existence seen the mass bollockings like we've received in the past few weeks. Quite incredible that so called experts are telling us to fix the culture when they have no idea what is really going on inside our walls, and lack any real understanding of the context of our organisation. Just had a look at the Scrimshaw thread on the Hawks board and the derogatory crap they're sprouting about us is quite imbecilic. I guess they're only going by what the football media is saying. The fact that most of the football media (those with the loudest voices anyway), know F all about us doesn't matter to them.
Can't wait to see this team improve in the next few years and shove it right down their throats. Patience is required, but what goes around comes around.
Personally I think the Hawks are getting a bit desperate to remain near the top with risky acquisitions in Scrimshaw, Scully and possibly Wingard. Sooner or later it will come back to bite them. They can't just keep expecting to go to the same well and draw water over and over. Their premiership sides were built on high draft picks such as Roughead, Hodge, Franklin, Rioli, Lewis. Top ups are best when you are in contention. I don't think they are. Clarkson will eventually be overtaken by hungrier coaches. Hawthorn have done well to keep at or near the top for 10 years but there will be a changing of the guard eventually. Always is. Hawks fans should remain humble and remember that.

Mind you that trade proposed saw port give up wingard, 6 and hombsch for 5 and burton. Seems like a raw deal for them anyway considering they were offered 15 and burton for wingard alone.

I'm usually not fussed with that stuff as long as you thank people privately but that's really well written and seems like he generally is excited but is thankful to Geelong. I'm not exactly sure what his role will be but there's a spot there if he works hard enough.

Funny how people think differently about parenthood. My daughter moved away at 20 yo and returned home 6 months later. I felt embarrassed and like l had failed in my job to prepare my child to stand on their own two feet as an adult. Having her return home was the last thing l wanted.
Anyway good luck to you you have been restrained in batting for your kid but l don't think you need to. People on this forum will always be extremely disappointed and believe he showed very little perseverance and ran home at the 1st opportunity to the team he followed as a kid. You must concede from a GC perspective it looks very poor /soft.

Thanks Eppo...haha my Dad gave me a suitcase for my 18th with a beaming smile on his face...thought it was the funniest joke ever. Jacks coming home for work so a little different but I wouldnt begin to suggest a kid at home or away is any reflection on the parent, we have six and they are all different despite us. Funny you say that as a mate heard about the trade and asked if he could trade his son...doesnt play footy, just wanted a slab for him haha...(he was kidding)!
I guarantee you, come first bounce of the 2019 season, you will have forgotten all about the trade period!

GC can try to swap pick with Adelaide and St Kilda .
I think St Kilda don't mind giving up pick 4 for pick 6 and 29 and Adelaide don't mind trading 8,13 ,16 for pick 3 ,24 .

It’s a classy thing to do for sure but in reality I don’t want to be thanked by the bedwetter crew.
Let them rub it in to us in that they have run off on their mates, used us to get rich young and then run off to a big end of town VFL team.
Will make the final siren and the singing of our song even sweeter.

Bods the Dad was agitating up to his eyeballs early this year to get the kid out and he is not considered a stand up guy, they took us for a ride and are now giving us condescending bullshit as our consolation prize
Lets mark his papers as to how well he is going 12 months from now and see if he really has the ticker and discipline to make it at the elite level .........….after all if you cant crack OUR best 22 it doesn't augur well for you at Hawthorn, may very well be their next Ty Vickery
