Gidday mate ,just settling a bet with someone , was Mathew Lloyd known as the velvet hammer?
Sorry, just saw this as others have posted he was the Velvet Sledgehammer.

Great article about Riley on the AFL site.

I think the AFL need to step in and remove Stephen Silvagni for the competitions sake. The deal is essentially a trade pick of pick 2 for picks 22 and about pick 12(assuming Adelaide finish 6th next year).Afl draft calculator says 22 and 12 are worth pick 4.So Carlton have basically traded pick 2 for pick 4.Also a spiteful move from Carlton to prevent us getting Stoker.

If we get Valente via trading for West Coast's first he could play next year.

Champion data rates him.

Has leadership, provides support in middle looks tough, kicks on both feet, solid, runs on the board. Has size and can mark

Allows Cotch to take a breather and do different things, allows Dusty to go forward and be more strategic with greater hurt factor especially since RCD is probably at least 10 games away from first AFL level game.

Can help on a flank since he kicks on both feet. Could be a distributor in the back half if need be. Gives us a lot of flexibility!!

To compare with players maybe Jordan Lewis except better character arguably and possibly better proficiency on the kick in terms of non-preferred, possibly better inside to.

In terms of the value of the trade RFC needs to consider the ability in the 2019 draft class, where RFC will arguably end up end of 2019 in terms of draft picks, and our list management, including window management, and the likelihood for us to get a equivalent of similar age/price in terms of years of service as well.

I really think RFC should trade and grab Valente because he is a player that improves our capability, he is value and he is so solid. Normal drafts would not present this type of quality this later IMO so we should seize the moment!!

Updated picks.

We're off to a good start. Getting RCD makes passing on Ely Smith a lot easier. Smith is ready made but RCD upside is higher. Screenshot_20181122-214905.jpeg

According to punt road end someone there’s mail is we would of taken Ely smith but when rcd was still there we thought his upside was too good to ignore so pulled the trigger on him instead

Bizarre by Carlton. Josh Kelly is likely to be returning next year and trading out a top four pick rules then out the discussion. Wish they’d offered us the trade couldn’t of said yes fast enough.
