I invited everybody to have a proper crack. That was the whole point of the exercise. I've only included Miller in my top 10 and been lazy about the rest. I agree that there are several guys from the later rounds who look more like first rounders now. Toby McLean too.

I've got Weller at #8, but value him at #2 for 2017, even though I'd have chosen Wright and Miller before him at #8 and #15.

Focus, lads. The aim isn't to criticise each other, it's to make a better redraft.

Didn’t you say let’s do this properly?

It’s a bit disappointing when fellow suns fans go at each other like that. I don’t rate the intellectual snobbery, it doesn’t matter if a person is a professor or has severe reading/writing problems when it comes to discussing and loving a footy team surely.

Couldn’t agree more

Raise you your half finished arts degree for my actual BA in Literature. Come see me when you have a piece of paper worth bragging about because I've got four of them and my alma mater was just named best University Creative Arts Faculty in the country. Good old Griffith, eh. Sigh. Even if by some miracle you someday graduate, your qualification still won't be as highly regarded as mine.

Your little trolling expedition has been fun. Always happy to tutor you.
Hahaha... this is hilarious! What next? Keep it going big fella.. your commentary is like a train wreck, just tragic but i can't look away..
So tell us again.. how much smarter are you then eveyone else?

I hate the term lol because I think people use it even when they don’t laugh out loud but that effort made me actually have a chuckle. Thanks.

Righto back to footy,
Who are people hoping to see the biggest growth out of?
Bowes, Brodie, Scrimma being the obvious ones, But im hoping for a big year from 2MP. I think he needs to start pulling games apart more this year, he has all the tools to do it,
Sick of relying on Lynch to do everything up forward

You may have a small semblance of IQ but I can guarantee you have no emotional intelligence whatsoever.

Come on Lynchy, give him a few more chances. 17er might come in real handle with trolls from other clubs when the season starts.

From a team perspective i think Brodie's growth will be most important as that in and under , out clearance stats and contersted stats look really poor now that Gaz is gone , so someone has to pick up the slack there.

Want to see two types of growth this season.

(1) natural growth in our youngest players. A bit stronger and faster, more endurance, show more more often. Need a bunch of these to be better to show that the club has a bright future.

(2) developmental growth in some of our younger players that have shown something but not enough. In particular the 21-24 year olds in KK, 2MP, Touk, Sexton, Lemmens and Jack Martin. If 4 of those 6 all take a leap this year we will be in good shape. Especially if one of them is Jack Martin pushing up to A grader.

Srimmshaw for me, high draft pick , has zero tank but great size and speed. I’m really hoping we see him come on big time

Apologies to those who dislike fans disagreeing on forum. I'm not on here to have pissing contests, but if you read back a few pages you'll see that the self-described douchebag has been baiting me for days. I've dealt with it with good humour and mostly kept things well within site decorum. When he actually started bragging about his attempts to bait me I went a bit too far. Only one person called him out for it though. Plenty of others have just tried to join in the bullying.
I admit that I behaved like a dicksnap the last time I was baited in December. I got a long break, apologised to the admins, and took an extra few weeks to allow things to calm down a bit. Again, sorry for offending anyone. I'm here to read about our team and talk about our prospects. Anyone who wants to continue bagging me out and making character assassinations should take it up with the admins.
No really, how much smarter are you than everyone else?

Im thinking/hoping that this biggest rise will come from the guys coming into their 4th/5th seasons. 2MP, Weller, Touk, Kk, Leslie, Martin etc. This is around the time when players should really start going from good young players with potential to grown men stepping up to A-grade. If we can get 1 or 2 of these guys to become genuine A-graders or even A- especially in the midfield then we will look a hell of a lot better and more filled out as a team.

Would obviously be nice to see Bowes, Scrim, Brodie, Fiorini, etc. given the freedom to play their game and play with the confidence and flair that is hopefully coming from a coach who believes in their ability even though they are young as well. I really hope we just back Brodie in with minutes in the midfield rotation. If the likes of SPP, SPS, Jack Graham, Sean Darcy (just off the top of my head) can contribute to their respective teams midfields from day 1 then I dont see why Brodie can't with an additional year under his belt. Unleash the beast. Him, Swallow, Lyons, and Barlow in the guts will at least give us some grunt, drive, hardness and willingness to put their heads over the footy which will hopefully spark the rest of the squad into action if Dews words havent sunk in yet.

The Forward Line will be amazing. Lynchy didn't have a good season, but hopefully in a contract year he can both kick 50+ goals and extend his tenure. 2MP was clutch a couple of times, so I reckon we'll see a big year from him, with straight-shooter Ah Chee and dead set gun Ainsworth both able to kick bags. The question is what to do with Martin, Day and Young with only two spots remaining. The 2016 formula of 3 tall forwards began to gel, so do you put Young on the flank and throw Martin into the midfield or is Day the odd man out??

I can't see Day go straight into best 22. I would expect him to start at NEAFL and see how he goes.

It is nice to have tall options though. Day is versatile and Thompson needs to stay fit to keep his spot with Leslie coming through. Even Crossley could be pushing for a spot with his style of play, although Witts and 2MP are probably ahead of him in the Ruck Depth Chart.

Unless Day comes out and kicks like 5 goals a game in the JLT I would bring him back through the NEAFL. He'll probably blow up fairly heavily the big guy, getting match fitness back into him after a long time out and trusting the body in game again.

For the forward line I would go something like:

HF: Young Lynch Rotating Midfielder
FF: Ainsworth 2MP Ah Chee

Martin, Lyons, Touk, Hall, Barlow maybe Bowes/Fiorini/whoever gets a gig in the middle can rotate forward with Martin probably starting up their. All these guys are capable of going forward and hitting the scoreboard and can also chase and apply good pressure with the exception of Hall unless he can sniff a goal. Even Ainsworth will hopefully go through the middle, Young has talked about wanting time in the guts which is why he moved, and Ah Chee could push up to a wing to get involved in the game you would think. We really do have options everywhere. Will be interesting to see Dewys take on things.

I would be happy with Young and Martin as HF and both rotating through midfield. Agree, a lot of options. I have no problem with up to 30-35 players in best 22. Some younger guys will still have to be rested during the season. Let's see who will grab their opportunities. Please can we have a good run with injuries?

If that is our starting line up in the forward line we have 5 guys picked in the top 13 in the draft plus Young who was a 2nd round pick , so talent there to explode , lets see Dewy getting them to gel.

What would be your backup if Ainsworth and Ah Chee are not available? I don't expect them to play every game. We may miss Matera.

If god forbid something like this happens then we all sit in the corner and cry at yet another year of getting demolished by injury.

But seriously, I can see a few (albeit not exactly quality) options. Bring Day in and go tall. Lemmens is probably next in line purely due to his defensive efforts and the fact that even though he couldn't hit the side of a barn from 10m, he gets in goal scoring positions frequently. Young and/or Martin could play closer to goal with more of Barlow/Lyons/Miller in the forward line. Weller, Bowes and Fiorini all have the class to play across half-forward if required. Or we could hope like hell that young Powell and Heron take to Dew's gameplan and run their arses off defensively and fit in a couple of games (obviously Powell is a few years away from handling the rigours of AFL).

But lets hope it doesn't come to this for a change. :):rainbow:
