Just saw Clarko's post match presser - mentioned he didn't rate Ablett and Selwood getting big numbers as they should have lost last week as well.

Maybe it's addition by subtraction in terms of Ablett putting his personal stat sheet ahead of playing team football.

Gaz lacks the hurt factor he used to have. He's still A Grade but most of his possessions are dinky 15-20 metre kicks sideways or one-two handballs. 421 metres gained for 35 possessions? Jarryd Lyons had 36 possessions and 892m gained for us. I know which I'd prefer.

Ablett is still good but not A grade in my opinion. No more easy possessions like with Suns. It would not surprise me if he breaks down soon. He received some punishment in 1st game. Limping was telling.

Didn't you see him limping - surely he needs a rest .
Probably can't go over West next weekend - but should be right for the next home game...

I loved seeing his team mates ignore his over the top yelling for the ball. It happened so many times against hawthorn.

I wasn't impressed with either team, the umpiring was terrible, the commentary was hysterical, and it was a litmus test on Tuesday morning to see who was paying attention. Each team had a lot of passengers and the vulnerabilities were on show. The Suns would have punished Hawthorn's terrible goalkicking and pummelled Geelong. If either of those teams has a few more injuries they'll lose to the Lions or Saints.

It’s hiarious how much the narrative has changed. When he first moved there, the media was talking about how great a player he was and that the Suns neglected him, etc.

Now all I see is how critical Geelong’s ruck problem is. This isn’t a bashing of Zac himself, but more so the media itself.

I was thinking about that on Monday
He had that lucky first quarter in the Easter Monday match first game for Geelong and the narrative was "Stupid Suns wouldn't know a diamond from a lump of coal"- we heard the same from our favourite media troll Healey regarding Mav Weller and then Henry Schade who while being towelled up by an unlucky Buddy for Collingwood was inexplicably lauded??!!
Bought Zac 2 more years of AFL time that one quarter did and good luck to him
We all understood that was exactly what Zac will do for you
Raise your hopes and then spend the next 10 matches continually dashing them until he raises them again with a decent effort in round 12
It should be obvious to any football follower who has a close knowledge of the game that the only ex Suns players who have shone at other Clubs have been guys we didn't want to lose
(I'm not sure where Charlie Dixon fits within that but I don't think we could match his asking price)

Come on, you’d prefer Lyons over Gaz? It’s not all about metres gained, in the current game with zone defence it’s often short kicks that chop up the opposition. Against the Hawks Gaz has 35 at 71%, including seven score involvements and a goal.

Anyway, I came here to say I’ve been really impressed with the way you blokes have started the season. I thought you’d struggle having lost your home ground advantage due to the Comm games, but you’ve been great. And you’re #1 for tackles in the whole comp by a long, long way.

I'm a Foundation member since 2009
My boys are now 11 and 8 so grew up with Ablett as a Sun
Neither of them ever wanted 9 on their back
No-one ever liked him- maybe the reason he wanted to go "home"
I know that's hard for people in Victoria and especially Geelong to understand
He plundered our Club like a bald pirate

I don’t live in VIC and never have. Interesting perspective you have, though.
