Had him playing outside TAC last year bought him in this year and played him back instead of forward and only played 3 games. Suggestion that they were keeping him out of view last year.
Ah OK.

I thought they might have given him a false passport and made him wear a pair of those Groucho Marx glassed with the big nose and moustache when playing...

The club believes Mccartin and King will both be in our forward line once King comes on so please let’s stop with the “Paddy is gone now” rubbish.
Paddy hasn’t lost his talent, the only thing that stops him is his body. Fingers crossed they both get over their recent injury issues and we see them both in the same St Kilda side in the second half of next season.
Max will ultimately be a KPF and 5 min per quarter relief ruck. Perfect, exactly the player we needed.

Well said ghost. It will be a formidable forward line if it comes together the way the club envisions it.

yep. Very poor form. Neither trade was legit and neither should have been approved. Is there a rule when making a single trade against asking for future favours? Because if there is, they just broke it.. i.e. it may have actually been illegal and not just unethical...

I hope they get sanctioned.. strip both teams of the spoils.. i.e. 2nd rounder in 2018 for Sydney and 2nd rounder in 2019 for WC

That’s the problem. They were not legitimate trades, but tactical with the intention of manipulating the intent and spirit of the draft.

Looked really shabby. As soon as Blakey was drafted the second ‘non Trade’ was announced.

There were no rules to prevent this type of manipulation of the draft. The AFL let them do it. Was still a really poor look.

Having seen how much Ian hill has slided in the draft makes me feel Sydney stack will be the big slider in the night having attitude issues etc even worse than hill but the talent is clearly their.we any chance??

Was playing golf this morning but kept an eye on my phone for the Draft. Great we got Max, and it fell perfectly for Ben to GC. It might be he goes well there and stays. Could be.

But we must hope we can prise him out for the romance of the brothers getting together again at the club they support. But it isn’t a given.

Looking forward to seeing who we get tomorrow.

A good shot of Geary's Mo.

The Big Boy sure lacks nothing for confidence! A bit of Peacock about him!
Tis refreshing to see. We need some Alpha Boss at the club.
Also looks a little like the dude from American Psycho!
Can just see him posing in the mirror as he fulfills his Royal duties!

Wonder if he loves Huey Lewis too!

As for Gears, the mo does not become him.
Looks like a really shifty out of work pr0n Star!

Is RoMa obsolete now?

No way.

Will work with Lade & the team to develop into our #1 ruck. With his mobility around the ground and forward nous he is gonna be Brad Ottens-esque.

Combined with Max “Paul Salmon” King we are absolutely laughing!!

Good luck to Sydney, clever and slick.
Anyone surprised the AFL allowed them to sort the System?
F/S, Academy, all rigged.

Sydney have usually traded fairly with us so I am not too bothered.

Gearys mo is bad but pretty sure it is for mo-vember charity so can't hold it against him!

Tis true! He should be respected for it!
But when Respect looks like a character out of houses who just got
Knocked back for Chicken Nixon does Doveton!
You know he ain't gonna garner a whole lot of respect on the track!
Least it's only for another week or so! So his teammates won't have to suffer
For too long!

Do we think he remains Captain?
Not exactly too many beating the Green Door down!

Guys I'm in a different timezone, but that midfielder we drafted with our first pick looks very tall...………….?
Yeah but his brother is shorter so all sorted for mids and he'll be a Saint in 2021.

I am hoping the likes of Hanners gives Geary some on field support and leadership.
Feel like he got very little last season.

ok, it seems the AFL actually approved it beforehand!
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-11-22/swans-eagles-pull-off-historic-first-live-draft-trade

I find that unbelievable. Just a joke.
Very very smart by Sydney - knew the numbers - if Adelaide had picked him @ 9 Sydney would have been forced to use Pick 26 to match.

Once they didn't do that Sydney could then do the trade they'd sorted out with WC because they could then get Blakey with existing accrued points less pick 26.

Very very smart - any hate should be directed to the AFL.

What the AFL are saying is you can do a multiple trade with a club and they will assess on the basis of the whole trade not each single component.

The actual trade of 2nd round for 3rd round is unfair BUT when you add the second trade it becomes more reasonable. Assuming a 7/8 finish for both clubs its about a late 40's/early 50's pick difference.

Very smart!!!!

I suppose they did have to downgrade a pick next year to do it so they didn't exactly get it for free..

Still think the AFL will look at it for next year. I'm not a fan of it, but good on Sydney.

Thanks for the updates and info throughout last night guys and girls - much appreciated. Fantastic we may have picked the best young talent in the land and have the potential to woo his brother across in a few years time.
I used to work with RCD's mum Chris - ripping chook and her son is an absolute jet. Very happy for the family that he's still in Vic.
Thanks again for the info all and look very much forward to more today!

Agree .

Good club to deal with can’t understand why Blakey was not bid by Gold Coast at 6
or Adelaide they weren’t going to get him but it would have eaten up some points.

Strange recruiting by Port Adelaide , Adelaide, Geelong & Fremantle with picks for me,
gifting Tigers & Giants.

That probably true, but the talk about a small forward line is fantasy. Assuming skunk keeps playing we have a lot of surplus talls and a big forward line. I assume a few will be offloaded for mids in the next year or two and we will be drafting running mids for the rest of this draft.
