Not sure about GC recruiting....

2 - JL is going to be a gun
3 - Rankin will boost the crowds by 30% up there. Should be 10 people now.
6 - for 2021 St Kilda second rounder though.... bit of a down grade. How do the point look? Hahahaha

Was playing golf this morning but kept an eye on my phone for the Draft. Great we got Max, and it fell perfectly for Ben to GC. It might be he goes well there and stays. Could be.

But we must hope we can prise him out for the romance of the brothers getting together again at the club they support. But it isn’t a given.

Looking forward to seeing who we get tomorrow.

Dream result for mine no chance he stays at Suns

Anyone else think it's beyond ridiculous the draft is split over multiple nights? Seriously WTF. What's next, prolong the Brownlow over the course of a month?
Absolutely

Yet again the AFL is trying to replicate the NFL. And its not working. We dont have the same history of performance as they do in the states. Over there you play in front of 10,000 in high school and then if you go to a big college you pretty much play the grand final every week. Those draftees get followed literally their entire career.

We get what 5 mins of graint footage in a highlights package? if we are lucky, there's 2 pakages.

Can't wait to hear Richo's terrible attempts at hosing down the King hype in pre season...

Fans will be frothing when he sits on a few heads

As a spectacle probably. But is there a benefit to the club to reconsider draft strategy after seeing who was picked up yesterday?

I’m not sure it works that way. It will eventually turn around for Gold Coast. And Sydney have more hope of getting paddy than we have of getting his brother. No one would have thought that a few years ago. We have to improve enormously before we are certain to get other players. And the afl will bring in help for gc to help them retain players. You can bank on that

Doesn’t hurt to try something different. I like any ideas to help. More news about footy over multiple days the better. I suppose the other option of nothing at all is better

It's not even over two nights.

We are all at work and can't participate in it today.

Joke

That probably true, but the talk about a small forward line is fantasy. Assuming skunk keeps playing we have a lot of surplus talls and a big forward line. I assume a few will be offloaded for mids in the next year or two and we will be drafting running mids for the rest of this draft.

If players stay healthy then it’ll be Paddy/King/Membrey long term. They’re all different sizes and completely different players, I think they can really work well together.
And as for our supporters obsession with mids, yes we are a touch one paced but a group of Steven, Gresham, Ross, Acres, Steele, Hannebery, Clark, Billings, Kent, Coffield, Sinclair is something to build around.

Without scrolling through 23 pages my take on Sydney:
Hats off to them. They played within the rules and made a mockery of the AFL.
If we did that we’d be all sitting here saying how much of a genius Lethlean is.
It doesn’t affect our picks because either WC have it or Sydney have it.

Does anyone have a link to the updated draft order?

Is RoMa obsolete now?

Let's not forget Billy Longer is by far our best and most experienced ruckman.

Yes, Billy Longer.

I think there is plenty of opportunity for roma to establish himself in the side somewhere if he's good enough.

We finished 16th- all spots are up for grabs everywhere.

Sad if true about longer. I’m hoping he is passed by Marshall in the practice games

The obsession is about not having star mids. Unbiased people see that. And if you are saying we have plenty of mids some of which you mentioned aren’t we certainly have more than enough tall forwards and backs but like the mids we lack quality not quantity
