You are absolutely correct, but the president of a club who makes a significant amount of revenue (about $6m) isn’t in the best position to lecture someone else about pokies revenue. It the pot calling the kettle black. (although Hawthorn do hover in $26m from them!). In fact they are 2/3 a football club and 1/3 a casino.

Maybe when the state they are a “family club”, maybe they mean they want you to bet your family whilst in their club!

The sole reason it’s happening this year is because Metricon isn’t available until mid season.

Once the Gold Coast have normal use of Metricon they’ll cut the China game quicker than 7 covering up Indigenous protests.

Before anyone complains, when free to air previously had the NBL rights they were still showing the games around the same time.

Free to air coverage of sport is garbage, always has been and always will. FTA Networks only want to show one or two games at times that's convenient for them.
