Rocky would be a good acquisition if they didn't have Wines.

Remember Janus telling us how great it will be to have Rocky, Wines and Gray rotating through inside mid to forward.

In the real world that does not work so well as pure inside mids tend to work best in the rythym of constantly being in the pack and at the bottom of stoppage work. Only one guy can really do that. It is Ollie for them.

Rocky ain't an outside spread player. Which is what they have to shoehorn him into with Ollie the main inside stoppage mid.

Given they are paying him $750k a year it us terrible talent identification/recruiting.

Like the past two years Port still struggle against every team that spreads well from a stoppage. Coincidently that is most top eight sides (Not Sydney).

The players on the field may have changed but the coaching direction is the same.

The mid 2000s flood does not hold up anymore.

Port paying big time for not playing a ruckman. Westhoff is too skinny to ruck all day against proper ruckmen and doing so reduces his mobility through the game. Would be better off playing the young ruck they have and seeing if he is up to AFL standard, better doing it now than having to find out late in the year if Ryder gets injured again.

Of course, it may just be an SA thing, I mean in the same situation, we'd be tempted to move Jenkins into ruck so we could bring in Otto as his replacement and leave ROB in the twos
