People need to calm down about us.

We had an off game yes very similar to north the game but look we still finished top. Were one game off top position thats how close the competition iswe have injurys that we will get back in the coming weeks. We will be fine top 4 is where we will finish.

The sense of reason - you knew on Friday night we were in deep shit within 5 minutes of the game starting and when Laird made two errors which cost two goals - knew at that point were going to have to work very hard to win and guess what! We didn’t put the effort in.

Would not surprise if we beat Sydney in Sydney - it is one of those seasons. A side gets blasted one week and they respond the next week - has happened for the first 4 rounds.

We've had two off games in four matches. We deserve to cop criticism, no need to sugarcoat our current form because it's very mediocre.

Exactly! Also after the Sydney game we have 4 Games at AO in a row. We will be fine people over react they did it after the bombers game then we smashed tigers and all was calm now this

Was Lever's disposal that bad for us?

Not one kick or handball clean to a team mate that quarter.

Three actually. We were shit against the Saints but we were lucky they're one of the worst teams in the comp and couldn't capitalise when they had us under the pump.

We have played poor footy all year.

Difference is our gameplan is not too bad and stacks up. It is obvious we are physically underdone. The program Haas and Burton implemented this summer needs to be reviewed IMO.

Port are actually preferring to play a slow flooding game which does not stack up against good teams in 2018.

Had same thought. He sold one dummy and had flashback to all the candy he used to sell for us. Had slipped from my mind. Generally never had to create from half back did he? He makes them a worse defence at the moment.

When we got done by North we’d burst out of the blocks, still with a few injuries,
but had played inspired footy in those preceding 6 games. Then we got ambushed and had drunk the bathwater.
This year we have looked awful in all games bar the Tigers game which is the outlier. Not one of our forward line is in form. We have lost 3 key players 2 of them for ever, 1 will not feature in the H&A games. Our midfield is undermanned for the next month minimum.
Last year is in no way an indicator of this year. We are a completely different team now.

Always make we wonder - “the players aten’t playing x team football”. What really does that shit mean?

It’s a meaningless synonym for playing well that teams use to make it sound like them winning is somehow unique - just like the “Bloods” football or “Shinboner Spirit”. They all pretty much mean the same thing i.e. playing hard, contested footy and winning more often than not. Port always play "The Port Adelaide Way" - except for all those times they don't so it doesn't count:rolleyes:. Just like when we beat them in Showdowns by playing harder, faster and with more heart and skill (i.e. all the attributes that they'd call "Port Adelaide footy") - it also doesn't count:drunk:.

It's only "Port Adelaide football" if they win

I am not missing Lever at all. But I am missing Charlie. Having said that, it was a good trade off to get the Fog. I feel the mistake was made in 2016 when we could have got Gibbs for Gallucci and pick 17 in 2017, probably with a 2nd rounder in 2016 coming back to us. We really should have caved considering we moved on Lyons anyway.

The thing about Lever is that he was an incredibly confident young man. He played with a mindset that was above his skillset. I think that was a good thing. Now he seems to have lost that confidence and his team mates dont have that confidence in him either. Unfortunately, I think that will sort itself out and he will be a decent player for them. Not worth what they are paying him, but over a 10 year career it will probably not look as bad as it does right now. Hopefully, he can keep spuding it up this year and help us get the good pick that we are wanting from them. I think right now they would drop him if they could, but they wont want that embarrassment. Hopefully, it costs them a finals place.

Lever. I am seeing a lad that is just not enjoying his football. Trying to get a read on his body language where possible.
There's no energy about him. He is not pointing and directing. He looks lost. Really lost.

I love thinking about Port. Especially when they’re losers.
This is a good one ....

"Koch and KT blinked with that contract extension last year. Given Hinkley was still contracted for this year, he should've been told to either resign (with no payout), or coach this year with an extension only being considered half way through the season. He didn't have the runs on the board to make him valuable enough for an extension to be offered early. To then make that extension to the end of 2021 is a monumental f**k up which should never have been made by a club that had previously been through the Choco contract debacle.

We are seeing the same problems this year that were evident last year, but this time Rome could be a raging inferno and Hinkley can just luxuriate on the deck-chair with his fiddle."
