So can you explain to me why I should have never considered him based on his history,
genuinely interest on your thoughtsand what was it that held you back and why?

He looked on an upward trend and rebounding defenders are killing it this year....

I think many were swayed by his GF performance, which he only got a 90 odd, and by his great start to the year.
His inability to stay on the park was number one.
He was a prime target for the tag, which has been proven in the last few weeks.
Bulldogs couldnt keep up their game style.
His price was inflated given his previous output.
Even if he replicated he last years ave which was a significant jump on his previous best he still wasnt in top ten def. Banking on improvement again and that doesnt happen at his age.
and finally
I just dont think he is that good.

He was just in the right place at the right time.

Played 11, missed 2.
And has a 210 which makes up for one of those missed. Both if you had him captain!

But fair enough - need to avoid too many injury proners.
I am more worried as the season goes on. This injury could see him miss again next week and depending on how the suns go and what he wants to do there may be little motivation to go strong to the end of the year.

I saved money in the backs this year, it was a strategy i thought that would work.
3 over 500k
He looked like a breakout contender, I took him over Tuoey who I liked over the preseason,
did you take a risk in def and who was he if you don't mind sharing?
Cool mate, things I will consider for next year thanks for your input.

Lloyd was my risk/ breakout. Was one of my favorite picks until every man and his dog picked him up cheaper than I did!
I also went with Doc and chose Rance over adams/Laird. Adams I didnt start with due to injury history and I thought Laird would come down a little in price. Not starting those 2 players cost me a top 1000 position right now.
Shows that no matter how many you get right, you get just as many wrong!

Other in def I was happy about was geting on Burton in rd 3.

Yeah I got got Adams so seems more about luck, also had Laird in his breakout and last year and was willing to wait.
JJ call sounds like a 50/50 too me quite that a few got wrong, myself.:'(

Ahh look. Anyone who claims to get every player right by looking at stats, history and predicting breakout is talking shit. There is so much luck involved.
JJ could easily have come out and been a solid pick. Maybe the talk about 800k a year went to his head and he forgot to work at his game. I bet he wished he signed back then. Will be offered 450/500k at the dogs on a short contract. Will end up somewhere else on 650k and 4 years and be overpaid.

Dom Sheed on my radar next year if his price doesn't go up too far.

I might jump on him if he's in the low 400s. Just needs to get fitter but looks a player.

Fyfe, Murphy and Beams added to the Never Again List :knife:

Buddy is damn close to joining them

TLynch should also be added to the list, but if the Suns eventually improve their kicking/ball movement next year, he'll be a 110 averaging KPF
Fyfe is burning me but he can't go on that list mate.

At a new club next year and trying again he could go ape shit.
Could be the main contested bull feeding it out to guys who can kick.
Imagine him at St Kilda playing under the roof every week and never traveling.
So many good players for him to hand the ball to.
Could go 120+ with ease

No more fallen premiums. They fall for a reason.

GnR.

Next year will be better :)
The 2017 draft was supposedly the best talent in ages yet we still got a whole lot of dud rookies for SC.

Might need to look at a few more of the Oliver/Kelly types again.

We haven't had the 2017 draft yet. ;)

It makes me sad to say, because he's been a mainstay of my SC teams the past few years, but I won't be backing in Kade Simpson next year. He's had a couple of big games, and his average is still acceptable, but his consistency just hasn't been there this year. Another year on and I can see him going the way of Matty Boyd. Same with Montagna and Heater: time to look elsewhere.

If I'm doing this shit again next year...

DEF/MID: Ellis will get it, Yeo should get it, Lloyd should keep his
MID/FWD: Gray will get it, Libba should get it, Dahlhhaus should keep his

Sidebottom, Parker and Ward will be bargain MID premos. JSelwood will be discounted

Locks:
Doc, Laird
Danger, Bont, Treloar
Gawn
Gray, Heeney

Like it.

Will never touch Treloar again though... :fire:
