2018 Rate My Team (Post JLT)

IMO having Nank takes away so much from a team. I'm not saying everyone needs to get Lycett, Cox or Simpson but if you are going to pay $500k you might as well find some more money and get handsome Stef. Nank to me is just a middle tier that you are going to have to upgrade if you want to finish near the pointy end of the competition. I would implore everyone to find another option I just don't think he's the answer.

Nank is a bit of a gamble for me but one I'm happy to run with. He's the perfect age for a big man to reach his potential. He's not going to dominate the hitouts but his last game suggests he has significantly improved his tank since last year.

Toby scored 7 tons last year and averaged 88. Happy to take the chance. Worst case is it costs me a trade around the buys.

I've been switching between Zerrett and Kelly. If the GWS mids stay healthy this year I think Kellys average could drop 5-10 points.

Yeah I like to always run with a solid POD who I think can reliable or break out. Last year it was Nathan Hrovat and was a huge miss. Honestly thought he would dominate getting a regular game every week.
I had Ellis back in his second season because he was cheap but getting decent scores for a rookie price. Pulled out a 140 when no one else had him. Forgotten about him for a few years but checked out his totals from last season and noticed he had 12 scores 90+ and 6 times cracked 100. Would happily take another 90 average from him if no one else has him. That being said, i'll back him for about 5 weeks and then make a decision if he completely falls on his arse.

I would take the punt on Murray on field before Keefe. Much bigger ceiling for a running defender who kicks long.
Trust Dylan Shiel. I really wish I had taken the punt on him last season. Looking to hopefully bring him in at some point this year.

good team, but id be looking and downgrading one of your top mids to a Parker/Cogs/JOM so that you can get Devon Smith up forward for Keeffe.

Understand your point. Smith is a definite target down the line. Lack of quality scoring defenders and forwards means I'd like my mids to be absolutely stacked.

Downgrade Daniher to either Raynor or Garlett and upgrade JOM or Cogs to another premo.
