I think that every player manager in the country would be counselling their players not to base their long term life decisions on the immediate form of a team. Every year there will be an Adelaide who flunks and a North who exceeds expectation, and if your decision was premised on team fortunes then disappointment would be all too common.

I think that the following priorities would be primary considerations, in this order:
1. Money/other contractual terms/city
2. Personal affinity with players and coach
3. Facilities/location/convenience
4. Team prospects

I'm hoping that if we can (somehow) pull at Rory's heart strings and convince him the only other place he could possibly play is St Kilda, then we might be able to use that to get someone else with a big profile because we can afford them. And then boom, back in finals contention.

Actively throw high price offers at every A grader thats out of contract , basically make the other clubs squeeze their caps out.
