Just a guide, mainly selected from the all Australian squad and the academy and TAC cup squads of the week. Am sure the placings could be redone but nearly everyone of those kids starred on the weekend.
From your own academy I could see players like Griffiths , Jeffery, Reville or Tozer could be in this list within a month. Plus there are WA or SA kids we don’t really know about yet. It would be worth someone taking this list and redoing it over the next couple of weeks to update it till the draft
The point of the qld and NSW teams in the nab league was to expose them to better competition to see how good they really were. How’s that going to happen when Oakleigh and Sandy have their best players outOn iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app

I agree 100%.Correct. Will be difficult to get a read of the Academy players if they are playing against younger players. While I am at it the NAB league probably should be called the VIC league as the majority of “reporting” is Vic centric with the last paragraph lucky to mention the Academy scores let alone any resemblance of correct statistics. I have seen a few times this week stats being incorrect in the reports to their own App stats. The same players are mentioned constantly regardless of their most recent games performance. Kids being called “inside” players when they are not, kids who get cheap / handballs over the top goals being called “gun” forwards. I appreciate the Nab League App and how it has opened up our knowledge base on players but to sit back and do game reports off sketchy video footage can be interesting to read. Does any one know if the people doing reports are actually at games? These are my opinions and not directed at anyone in particular but can be frustrating to read some things that are published.

Big fan of Philp, his speed might be the main query but he reminds me of Jack Ross from last year in a few ways.Ryan Sturgess and Sam Philip must come to AFL attention. Cracking footballers and cracking kids. Sturgess has been talked about and Philp a real smoky.
What about another knights player that I’ve been seeing a bit, josh dintiosante been best on last 2 games for them, what are your thoughts?Big fan of Philp, his speed might be the main query but he reminds me of Jack Ross from last year in a few ways.
Liked him last year, speed would be his main issue for the type of player he would need to be at the next level. Cavarra has the same issue but kept persisting at VFL level which is what I’m predicting will be the case for Josh. He has a knack around ball and goals and he is very clean and quick of mind, I would hope recruiters see past the lack of athleticism and see the pure footballer. What about another knights player that I’ve been seeing a bit, josh dintiosante been best on last 2 games for them, what are your thoughts?

one of my mates plays for Eastern who versed them on the weekend, apparently he’s very hard to play on very competitive apparently and can take a grab for his height.Liked him last year, speed would be his main issue for the type of player he would need to be at the next level. Similar to Jack Higgins when played up forward?Liked him last year, speed would be his main issue for the type of player he would need to be at the next level. No not exactly, does it make sense to have something classy and something crafty? Not sure how to word it exactly Higgins as a forward makes something out of nothing where as D’Intinosante is more traditional in the way he kicks his goals but still ‘classy’.Similar to Jack Higgins when played up forward?

Spot on!I agree 100%.
If the northern academy now goes in and beats the Vic team, it will be because their best players didnt play!
The same hype in swans academy too. It seems that the only players who get any thought are those that have been promoted by the powers at be, rather than watching and seeing the whole team!
And again, the same occurs with the write ups.. incorrect analysis based on nothing more than stats.
Watch the game, see the 1%ers that win games rather than the number of easy possessions that the touted draft prospects have, and open your eyes.
The Old Boys need to be looking outside the private school fraternity!!
The other thing is the Vic private school kids get to protect their bodies and their stats against weaker kids their own age while the rest of players inSpot on!

Other states have to play against men in the WAFL , Safl and neafl
Mostly because the vast majority of top end and draft-able Vic kids play private school footy. If you listen to the club recruiters, most watch Private School footy, because that's where most of the top kids are.And what is the go with all reports on the boys playing school footy like it is an extremely high standard. School football might have a few good players but it drops off incredibly fast so getting 30+ touches or kicking 5 goals doesn’t mean that much compared to weekend footy.

Kids who play vs men in senior state footy and only get 10ish possessions, are more qualified then those playing boys, getting 30 + in the school system.Yes but the bottom half dozen in each team may not be rep standard. The top kids could probably get away with playing bruisefree footy where guys like Sharp and Gould are playing against skilled men
You mean NAB cup standard? That's never been disputed. Nor was it the point.Yes but the bottom half dozen in each team may not be rep standard. The top kids could probably get away with playing bruisefree footy where guys like Sharp and Gould are playing against skilled men

A good indicator is to look at the numbers of those kids when they play against kids who play against men.
There is a massive drop in their numbers.
Nope.. Im not.You mean NAB cup standard? That's never been disputed. Nor was it the point.
My response was simply, that's where (private school footy) the best Vic kids are playing, so that's where the professional club recruiters are watching and where the draft watchers are watching and reporting from as well.
I'm not arguing for or against any competition in my response. Just saying that's where the kids are, and why there is an emphasis on it. Though I doubt private school footy is any more or less bruise free than NAB cup.
It's actually not much different in WA. If you read the WA posters here, the best kids play in the private school comp over there as well.
One point to make note of, many of these private schools have under 16 national rep kids in their teams as well. It's not just the top 17 and 18 year olds in their teams. From memory, Paddy Dow won Geelong Grammers' top football award as a 16, 17 and 18 year old. Pretty sure I've read Noah Anderson and Matthew Rowell played for Carey Grammar as 16 year olds. They might have smaller bodies (though not all are that small at 16), but their skill level will be higher.
But it's not like for like, and never been treated as like for like. Because NAB cup and Private school footy is the set up in the State the Vic kids play in.
Are you going to tell me Luke Valente is more qualified than Sam Walsh because he played some SANFL last year? Because Walsh and Max King were two of the top performers for the U18 Academy team versus North Melbournes VFL team last Easter, along with Rhylee West, and they all played Private School footy for most of the year.
Or Darcy Fogarty more qualified than Cam Rayner and the top 8 draftees from 2017, because they were all Victorian and I think 4 of the 8 actually went to the same private school, Hailebury College. Luke Davies-Uniacke stared for the Academy in 2017 against VFL, along with Jack Higgins and Lachie Fogarty. All from the then TAC cup system.
Or the top 8 draftees from 2017, Rayner, Brayshaw
