I haven't read one post where anyone has been "salty" with us drafting Robertson.

I'm certainly not, which is distinct from the seperate trade with Port.

People doing salty about what we gave up is still being salty about him in Dodongo's humble opinion. Dodongo thinks losing the second next year in the trade has little impact and is no big loss. We are set up well to tackle 2020 draft

Do we know whether Archie Smith is staying or going?

By my calculations, we have no more primary or rookie list spots available, unless Archie leaves (or Lyons, Skinner, Eagles).

I'm guessing he is gone given we had committed a rookie spot to Lachie Johnson despite technically not having a list spot available; that we in the public know about.

Eagles will go back on cat B I think. I think we can only have 4 cat a rookies with 40 players on the list. Allison plus 3... Johnson would’ve taken one of those spots. So yeah I think you might be right.

Disappointed about junior Johnson but super excited about Coleman. Kid is a jet and was a pleasure to watch in the neafl. I think getting him at 37 (or whatever it was) is actually a steal.

We have 3 cat A rookie spots available for Smith Skinner and Lyons and Eagles can be cat B again according to AFL. So we can list them all tomorrow.

Interesting draft and overall I was pretty happy with the guys we ended up with.

Robertson - is a ball magnet who has very good vision around the contest. Knows where his teammates are and despite his disposal having room for improvement I think he should make it. Gives us more grunt. He is a good leader who should only add to the good cultural mix in the group. Reminds me a bit of Matt Crouch and the way he fell his draft year for much the same reasons.

Smith - a medium defender who is not afraid to get his hands dirty. He reminds me a bit of Gardner in that he can come in a do a job. Showed he can find a bit of the ball this year which is good but I am not expecting him to be a big ball winner at AFL level. His positioning is good defensively and he is strong overhead.

Coleman - I was very very happy we matched the bid on him. Looking at him in the first half of the year I thought he was easily first round pick worthy. He and Charlie could be one of the most dynamic small forward combos in the AFL. He is quick, very smart around the ground and has great skills. The touch on his kicks is as good as you will see at junior level. He will be one of the steals of this draft I am very confident.

Prior - similar type to Smith. He is another medium defender with nice size who has good discipline, solid skills and a pretty good football brain. Well worth a punt I think where we got him.

On the kids we missed I was okay with it. Cumberland I was happy to see get a chance but he was never one who overly impressed me. He had a couple of good games this year but more very average ones. I just did not see anything that really convinced me that he had the potential to be an every week AFL player. Martyn had a few more tricks than Cumberland but put it together even less often. He could make it but the odds I would not have in his favour. If we were going to take a punt on another of our Academy players I probably would have gone with Tozer or Reville who both have a higher order of talent although neither did all that much this year.

Yes, probably our most promising Academy prospect since Harris and Eric. Excites me more than Cedric to be honest.

I quite like how a few of our recent draftees have shown strong leadership qualities. Jarrod Berry, Answerth, Deven Robertson and Brock Smith have all either captained their clubs and/or state before we picked them.

great signs for our club culture moving forward!

Must admit, I'm now pretty pissed at tonight's proceedings and it is mostly due to Essendon. The Robertson trade (not the player) I'm annoyed about, but Essendon screwing us on bidding on Coleman when they did and then the kicker, taking Chrissy Johnson's boy from us, just topped it off. I'm obviously rapt we officially secured Coleman nonetheless.

I’m rapt you spelt rapt right #wrapped

Ecstatic with Deven Robertson and Keidean Coleman, Brock Smith and Jaxon Prior I know nearly zero about but our recruitment team have a good recent record so happy to back them in with those selections and the passing on Noah Cumberland and Will Martyn.

After reading Smith and Prior's bios they should be able to transition into the midfield in the future, do you know much about them briztoon ?
