The 2019 NFL Draft will be the 84th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible players. The draft will be held on April 25–27 in Nashville, Tennessee. The first round will be held on April 25, followed by the second and third rounds on April 26, and will conclude with rounds 4–7 on April 27.

A record-high 111 eligible applicants announced their intention to enter the 2019 NFL Draft as underclassmen, which primarily included juniors and redshirt sophomores who forewent future years of college eligibility. In order to be eligible to enter the draft, players must be at least three years removed from high school. The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft was January 14, 2019.

2019 NFL Draft Capital By Team

March 21st, 2019 at 7:59pm CST by Dallas Robinson

While each NFL team is organically handed seven draft picks per season, trades involving draft choices and the compensatory pick process ensures that many clubs end up with more (or fewer) than their original seven selections. As always, you can view the complete 2019 draft order, but here we’ll look at how much draft capital each club has amassed.
Let’s take a look at how many draft picks each NFL club currently possesses:
12 picks
  • New England Patriots
  • New York Giants
11 picks
  • Cincinnati Bengals
10 picks
  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Buffalo Bills
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Pittsburgh Steelers
9 picks
  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Detroit Lions
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Washington Redskins
8 picks
  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Cleveland Browns
  • Denver Broncos
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • Minnesota Vikings
  • Oakland Raiders
7 picks
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Houston Texans
  • Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Los Angeles Chargers
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • Miami Dolphins
  • Philadelphia Eagles
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers
6 picks
  • Dallas Cowboys
  • New Orleans Saints
  • New York Jets
  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Tennessee Titans
5 picks
  • Chicago Bears
4 picks
  • Seattle Seahawks
Of course, not all draft picks are created equally, as holding more early-round selections is eminently more valuable than collecting mid-to-late round picks. Using Chase Stuart of Football Perspective‘s draft value chart, we can calculate how many draft capital points each team owns heading into the 2019 NFL draft:
  1. New York Giants: 75.0
  2. Oakland Raiders: 74.1
  3. Arizona Cardinals: 66.5
  4. Green Bay Packers: 63.1
  5. San Francisco 49ers: 57.0
  6. Buffalo Bills: 53.8
  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: 52.9
  8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 51.8
  9. New England Patriots: 51.7
  10. Indianapolis Colts: 50.7
  11. Pittsburgh Steelers: 50.1
  12. Cincinnati Bengals: 49.0
  13. Denver Broncos: 49.0
  14. Atlanta Falcons: 48.3
  15. Detroit Lions: 47.8
  16. Carolina Panthers: 47.4
  17. New York Jets: 47.3
  18. Washington Redskins: 45.2
  19. Houston Texans: 42.6
  20. Philadelphia Eagles: 42.5
  21. Miami Dolphins: 41.9
  22. Tennessee Titans: 39.9
  23. Baltimore Ravens: 39.4
  24. Kansas City Chiefs: 39.2
  25. Minnesota Vikings: 38.4
  26. Los Angeles Chargers: 34.3
  27. Los Angeles Rams: 29.9
  28. Cleveland Browns: 29.2
  29. Seattle Seahawks: 27.8
  30. Dallas Cowboys: 23.7
  31. New Orleans Saints: 12.7
  32. Chicago Bears: 12.4

Conflicted heading into the draft.

I can't deceide whether we need to cut our losses with Jameis yet or not.

I would rather draft the best OT, DT, DE or CB in the 1st round than reach on a QB, but he’s probably the only one worth drafting at that point (unless hell freezes over and Kyler drops).

If not, we need to do everything we can in the offseason to make the OL good and hope that the new HC’s staff can bring the best out of Jameis on a somewhat consistent basis.

FWIW I also thought Daniel Jones (QB from Duke) looked pretty good in his bowl game. I'd be interested in him with a later pick if he skips out on his senior year.

Nashville mayor halts plan to chop down trees for NFL draft stage

The mayor of Nashville has stepped in to stop a plan to cut down 21 cherry trees to make room for the outdoor stage for the NFL draft.
“After hearing the public response over the planned cutting of 21 of the 68 ornamental cherry trees at Riverfront Park, I informed the NFL and Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. that they will have to remove them intact and replant them in our city,” Mayor David Briley wrote on Twitter. “The NCVC and NFL will replace the removed trees with 21 new ones, and will also plant 17 more at Riverfront Park in previously vacant and new locations. The NCVC will pay for the relocation and for any sidewalk damage. The NCVC and NFL have also agreed to plant an additional 200 cherry trees—for a total of 238 planted—across the city at fire halls, libraries, parks and in other places to continue to honor our relationship with Japan and long-time partnership with the Cherry Blossom Festival. Due to the change of plans at Riverfront Park, nothing will happen on Monday.”

The idea to chop down trees was never a smart one. Although the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation was overseeing the logistics and probably deserves the bulk of the blame, the NFL should have known that the takeaway from many in Nashville would be, “The NFL is coming to town and chopping down our trees.” The league has made the draft a traveling road show because it wants to attract more fans to its biggest offseason event, and anything that gives the NFL bad PR is unwise.

Haskins knows hes dropping out of the first round....

==========

Kyler Murray will be among the 23 players to attend this month's draft in person.
It is a change of course from last year's presumptive No. 1, as Baker Mayfield opted instead to take in the proceedings with his family in Texas. Possible No. 2 pick Nick Bosa will also be in Nashville, as will quarterbacks Daniel Jones and Drew Lock. Dwayne Haskins will not be in attendance. The entire list can be found at the link below.

No way the Jets take Williams over Allen if they have a clue with the lack of edge rushing talent on their roster.

The rest are good, make a lot of sense.

I was thinking they would take the higher BPA, still a need interior DL, and come back in round 2 for an edge rusher. There are plenty in this draft.

I reckon the interior is alright, plus they added Mosely at MLB to help against the run, they desperately need a play maker on the outside, someone capable of double digit sacks a season

So you'd revise my mock draft as

Allen at 3
Raiders would take Gary or Sweat at 4 then?
Q.Williams drops because Jets and Raiders are ok at interior DL?
or maybe Raiders trade back a few spots for a team hungry for Williams?

Something like that, wouldn't surprise me if the Raiders took Williams at #4 even with Hurst and Hall. Got two picks later in the first to adress edge rusher/and or trade up with. Gary a possibility at 4 for sure though.

then again, the Jets are the Jest, no? they could still do Jets things.

Gregg Williams will punch Maccaggan's lights out if he doesn't draft an edge rushsr for his defense after swinging and missing on Barr 😂

You make very solid points that throw the "guaranteed" label I bandied out on my mock look incredibly foolish :(

Well, I COULD still end up right :moustache: despite your valid rebuttals

Another good point I can make, Jets dnt have a second rounder due to the Darnold trade last year... Edge rusher in the first is a must 😉

Ok...how about this then.....huh.....

Jets trade out of #3 BECAUSE they don't have a 2nd rounder, and feel there's plenty of edge rushers mid-1st and early 2nd. So trade back to a team wanting Q.Williams very much so. So Williams still goes #3

:thumbsu:

Yep, can def se that happening, all depends how highly they value Allen/if Bosa somehow falls to them.
