Has anyone ever said they weren’t worth a top 10 pick? And yet a ruckman stood up in their midfield when they didn’t and somehow it’s Grundy’s fault they didn’t win

obviously not his fault, bloke worked his arse off, the only thing you would criticise is the lack of hurt factor with his disposals. But thing is a midfield can't be reliant on a dominant ruck.

I want him but I'm happy to wait until he's an FA.

Did you watch the match? GWS dominated for three quarters because of their superior midfield. Grundy was decent for Collingwood, but he wasn't dominant, he's not a dominant midfielder, and his ruck work was irrelevant

Metre gained to advantage, Or Assisted metre gained to advantage, NOt metre gained as that stat tell you nothing. Note Assisted metre gained to advantage also takes in Taps to advantage.
So with his dominance in the ruck, One would think those figures would be High. If people are willing to bring up his Clearance then Surly his metre gained to Advantage or his assisted metre gained to advantage must be brought into the discussion
At this time I don't have Access the Champion Data and will not get access for a few weeks. so I was wondering if anyone does and was looking.

Excluding his ruck work, Grundy's season stats are very similar to players like David Mundy and Ed Curnow

Pretty good midfield numbers. Decent clearances. Low 20s disposals. Respectable tackles and marks. Not much scoreboard impact.

He's not a line breaking, damaging, elite disposal midfielder and that's why IMO he's not worth $800k a year or more

No, it just doesn't matter. Doesn't have much of an impact. Gun ruckman is nice to have, but you don't pay big for one. Pretty ******* simple concept.

And you'd be right, but Grundy had midfielders stars PLUS 70+ hit outs. Meanwhile, Pendles, Sidebottom and Treloar went missing for large parts of the game. Were it not for Grundy, Pies lose by 50.

I'm paying pick 3 and 10M over 7 for that kind of influence, every day of the week.
