If he goes they'll pay him accordingly. He won't leave for a pay cut. You think he's unhappy at the Saints?
So he gets a payrise and we get 2nd round minimum.

Better players have left for third rounders. Even with a pay rise he won’t be a second rounder. Anyway he will stay because I doubt there would be any interest.

Depends on how he comes on I guess. Tall forwards are usually pretty slow to develop and our last high draft pick tall forward is still waiting to get on the park after 5 years or so.

Personally i don't think he'd leave unless he got a good payrise, and i'd be surprise if that didn't put him in 2nd. round.

i always worry about the really big athletic guys.
In the end their bones and muscles are made out of the same stuff as the short stocky guys. But more load.

Yeah I've seen enough. Don't get me wrong the 3 are not comparable. I meant in terms of the impact Hipwood had in his first years at Brissy, as his mobility for someone so tall has mostly negated the fact he's a bean pole.

Hey all, watching this game reminds me of a theory I have. Saints have drafted “nice” players for a long time while trying to build a positive culture. Does anyone think nice players often aren’t the arrogant, mean, mentally tough, game winning, goal kicking, SOBs? Not saying our whole team needs to be like this but often they bring other players up with their arrogance and kill or be killed attitude. Personally I often associate nice players with a bit of mental weakness who miss easy goals. when you miss some of the goals we have done today it’s a mentally weak thing because at training they kick those goals 9/10 times. Our players who all seem like nice sorts are in complete contrast to the arrogant port players from last years draft haul who are killing us today. A lot of other clubs have gone after these arrogant types but we haven’t.

I’d love to have a few gun arrogant SOBs in our side that weren’t afraid to spray senior players like Ross and newnes when they continually bomb it forward playing mentally weak af football. I’d be interest to see what people think as to whether or not people agree we need some more of these mongrel types?

I think it's time to accept we have a long way to go to be truly competitive. Most of our wins come from effort rather than brilliance

Time to go bloody aggressive in the trade period and be willing to sell quality for really early picks. Having a long list of C graders isn't getting us anywhere.

The problem is - we don't have much that will attract genuine interest. We are in a catch 22 and i fear it's gonna take a few years to break out of it.
