Bit late to the party today. First day back at work, a bloody drainer!

It’s a NO to Birch from me. Don’t get me wrong, he has been a champion player, but I think we have moved past needing a ‘mature’ head in the backline. We have Rocky, Dad and Gardiner who all have some experience and I think they have certainly stepped up and grown their own wings whilst Hodgey has been here. If it was 2 years ago, I would have been all for a Hodge/Birch package, but not now.

Good to see that Ah Chee should be a pretty smooth transition. Would love to see him and Coxy on the park with Charlie ripping it up. Certainly some x-factor there.

I still have a feeling we have something else in the works. Hoping for another nice surprise in the trade period somewhere!

I am actually quite glad we don’t have Rocky any more.
Especially down back!

We knew who you meant.............hope you can have a few relaxers when u get home. I am.

Dodongo loves that he is dragging it out giving Collingwood hope. Makes the knife through the heart even harder for them when he joins us.

Hope you’re right Dodongo, I bet my Collingwood following brother a slab he’ll be at Brisbane next year 🍺

Yeah, and I am also with you, that we do not need Birchall.

Yeah, and I am also with you, that we do not need Birchall.

I get the impression that we were never really interested in Birchall. I know one of his mates mentioned on radio a couple of weeks back that we'd be interested in him if he was to leave Hawthorn, but was that just one of his mates trying to pump his tyres up & the recent speculation in the last day or so just driven by his manager?

He was pretty much given the green light to look at other options wasn't he? I doubt we'd pussyfoot around the topic if we were actually interested in him.

I wouldn't say where not interested yet, just waiting until the last couple of days to see where we are at.

Yep , list spots are very tight.

FWIW Michael Gleeson (on the age's realfooty podcast) thinks that Elliot will make a decision tonight or tomorrow and expects him to stay. Wasn't definitive though.

Gleeson is a Collingwood supporter
