Jack Steven for pick 58 is the steal of this year. I hope for his sake he settles at Geelong and gets his head in a good place and if he does the Cats get an elite player for scraps. The kid can football.

Needs to lose the spare tyre as well.

I wonder if it would be worth offering our 16, 21, and something else to the Doggies for their First rounder this year and next year.

This might be leaning too much in our favour but as the deadline looms they will be keen to get some more picks in to help the deal go through so I think it would be worth us asking a few questions.

The Answerth part was an admittedly flippant response to an oversimplification on your part - that picks after 20 are useless. The top two in our B&F this year weren't top 20 in their draft. And 8 out of the top 10 weren't. And to my rough count only 1/3 of the finals teams we fielded were top 20 picks. Sorry if I was facetious, but your premise is patently a ridiculous oversimplification of a general trend.
Yeah fair enough, my way of thinking was more a bird in hand. If the player we take with the Taylor pick ends up being a good player, to me that would be a little lucky and against the odds. There is gold after pick 20 but it’s so far from a certainty i believe picks are overrated.

Ah Chee's manager stating we've brought Callum in to play half back and potentially on the wing.
Nobes has said that numerous times in his media appearances. Wonder if that means we see Bailey as a forward. Then wonder what that means for Bundy aswell.

Absolutely picks are overrated. But list management means you can’t carry a heap of depth at any given time. Dumping cap space isn’t a sexy way of looking at trade period, but it’s certainly an aspect that needs to be taken into consideration.

Lol, Champagne comedy. He is out of contract & wants out. Worth a pick in the 19 to 23 range? Pigs Arse (I hope you read that last bit in the voice of John Elliott).

Reckon if the trade fell through & he nominated for the draft (that's how it works isn't it?) the Suns would've used pick 20 to redraft him?

As opposed to losing him in the draft?
Was reported he was willing to go back to the club if no decent trade could be found. It’s that far off track now I think the original point is lost. If people are happy with pick 48 that’s cool, I’m not. The salary dump point is a good one though.

Let the kid go and try to build a career, he wasn’t going to with us.
This point always get lost in these discussions. He's a bloke who wants a career... his best chance is at a different club we have moved past him. Cus you know.... our club isn't a shit club that will hinder a players dreams just so we can potentially get a 5 pick upgrade on a 3rd rounder...
