Would be hilarious if they did that after knocking back pick 15 and Martin for 9. Effectively just throwing away a first round pick. If they want him in the ND though it'll have to be at that pick.

Real disappointing trade period from us, lose 3 quality depth players and hodge and not really replacing them with any ready made players besides CEY and a injured Birchall. I know we can't bring in a Cameron or Neale in every year but it would of been good to bring in some solid depth and fill some needs like the lack of run off half back. Hopefully Ah Chee ends up being a good pickup.

Thanks for dropping by. IMO and I watched every game of his this year - hell will freeze over before he plays inside mid. He is just not wired that way to chase the inside ball, he is outside to receive it saying his arms around and pointing. Thats not sour grapes from my, he has been a bit of a whipping boy for Lions supporters and there are two schools of thought. I'm in the school of studying him this year to say - nice fella, good looking rooster, great outside and a massive kick just don't ask him to be defensives or look where that long kick will land. Sad to see him go but the points we get for an academy kid has more upside.

Players can choose to nominate the ND or only the PSD. Martin will be nominating the ND because GC has the first pick in the PSD and has indicated that they'd retake him (though no one nominates for the PSD any more anyway).

I think this is a lesson in the danger of trying to wait till the very death. I'm assuming Gold Coast went hard at the pick 9 quite late when it appeared Papely didn't happen. It all ended in a mess.

It may have happened 15 years ago, but Dodongo highly doubts clubs will draft a player they know wants to be somewhere else. Times have changed. The draft route is an empty threat. GC won't pick him up either.
