It may have happened 15 years ago, but Dodongo highly doubts clubs will draft a player they know wants to be somewhere else. Times have changed. The draft route is an empty threat. GC won't pick him up either.
That only works if Martin nominates for the PSD. He won't - he'll nominate for the ND. Chances are he still gets to Carlton but it might have to be for pick 9.

Sounds like Carlton might still need to trade their pick 9 down into two picks.
I'd say a few more clubs will start to talk to his management. Doubt all the Victorian clubs just happily let him slide to Carlton in the draft, if he nominates.
Silvagni wasn’t willing to give that up by itself though, so he will have to backflip.
Would we take him at 16?

I could not have got to Sydney quick enough with pick 9 for Papley. They messed up huge.
He chose Carlton. He will get to Carlton in the third or fourth round. Dodongo can't see him changing his mind and when clubs see he him wants to be a blue they won't pick him.
If he nominates the PSD Gold Coast wont reselect him. Keeping players who dont want to be there is counterproductive for them when they are trying to get people to stay and attract players
There will never be another Nick Stevens situation. Dodongo is confident on that
FA next year isn't he. They will only get a compo pick. Certainly won't be getting 2x1sts that they were offered this yearBombers seem convinced they can make Daniher "fall back in love" with Bombers and make him re-sign.
Next minute... pulls out of entire 2020 season with injury and leaves for < half they asked for this year.
Looks like one of those boards with a hole cut out that he put his head through
YepCan teams still swap picks leading up to the draft?
It’s funny how you look at WC and Saints picks that remain and for what they brought in. WC’s one trade for Kelly craps all over a burnt out ruck, a speculative KPP (didn’t even know who Dougal Howard was until the trade period), a small forward, an outside midfielder and a looks like Tarzan plays like Jane HBF. I agree with the poster who said it reminds them of our illustrious trade period of ‘09.I think our 3 ins and our draft hand stacks up pretty well with every other team, not a lot of big names got traded this year, a few journeymen among the traded.
