I have been straight all my life. I remember not being able to concentrate at school in year two because I was sitting next to a cute girl. I have had multiple girlfriends and I'm currently in a long term relationship. I'm not sure if it's because I love Freo but Brayshaw is making me question myself. In the movie In & Out the guy wakes up as and older man and realises he's not heterosexual even though he's been straight his whole life. I'm starting to think that this isn't just a plot in a movie but something that can happen...

Can and does. Speaking from experience.

Bridget Lacy tweeting Hilly and Sonny are down there doing laps away from the 1-4 years, even though they're not due back for 2 weeks.
Sonny is so professional. It's a shame we wasted a few years of his prime without a proper key forward allowing him to play small and play his best. But yeah, I remember writing him off and consigned him to the 'remember that snap at the Gabba to win it?' bin and now he's a genuine leader. I ****ing love the bloke, we need him and Cooky to stay at the club forever. If young Aboriginal boys don't live a good life and become good footballers under those two, then we're more ****ed than we think as a society.

Phwoar Hughes looks like he doesn't have an ounce of fat on him, Logue looks huge and Darcy looks like he's trimmed down again.
Ethan Hughes has always been reeeeeaally trim. He looks like a classic wiry half-back or pure flanker who can take a mark and a bounce. I think he has potential. Part of me thinks he's lost some edge though.

Logue has big ****in thighs and a big arse. I'm yet to really see him do anything too exciting but that body shape is what clubs spend years trying to get into players. Mundy, Lukey, and Pav of a few years back, but now all the good mids have that build... it almost gives you a lower centre of gravity even if you're 6'4? Fyfe, Patrick Cripps, Dangerfield, Dusty, Ablett...

For me the verdict is still out with Logue. He looks a beast and is hugely athletic. His injury last season obviously derailed his development and is always going to be a project player.

I'd hope to see him ramp up AFL game time this season and hopefully show why he was a top pick by later this season.

Sounds like you would only dabble.

He's a great athlete but I just haven't seen or heard much about his smarts. There are guys who can run more, get marks through their size, at lesser levels and it makes them stand out. If you can't read the play or have a dangerous football attribute then what happens? He's hard to judge as he's barely even played though. Needs 15-20 games this season.

These are the guys you wish could develop their footy smarts more. They are arguably in the top 5 in the club for their athletic ability and you'd love to think they could become midfielders but watching them play, their skill and footy nous has shown me that they'll be nothing more than HB flankers.

I don't think you can develop footy smarts, you do when you're playing Auskick and learn to adapt those skills and your common sense into proper play, full sized grounds. If you don't have those smarts on a list then... ouch.

Im happy.to.see him running again..the first pick curse has been lifted. Im glad i caught a wedge tailed eagle & burned it on a cross. Scattering its cursed ashes at bon scotts statues feet im freo. While listening to tnt backwards

The best place for supreme athletes is lock down defensive roles,s long as their athleticism allows them to close the distance on the lead for a spoil, and stoppage midfield extractor. Clear roles, contest to contest repetition.

And other mumbo-jumbo

AKA back pockets.

AKA the position your shittest player plays, from under 12s to AFLs.

Even those guys you want to be elite kicks nowadays. The tall backs though, they can be pure athletes. If they could read the play they would be key forwards demanding one of their own defend them.

I don't get this Logue is just am athlete shit. Dudes played football for most of his life
Yeah it is weird isn't it. Blicavs also played football, but definitely focused on his athletics for a period, and that is a good thing. With Clark in the draft having focused on cricket it is being talked about as signalling that he has upside as a footballer now that it is his focus. Same thing goes for Logue.

Logue was an elite rower. But has a large tank to runm all day.
He will develop into a serious mid fielder. With Mundy getting close to retirement, he could be his replacement.Remembering also, that he is basically a second year player.Do people forget he was our first selection in 2016.Played his first game in 2017.Played a key role down back in his 13 games. He is till a learning footballer.Missed all last season.
He will be a jet for us.

I like the idea of Logue as a mid, but doubt it will ever happen or that he could make it there. He could be a big bull type but does he have the vision, awareness and instinct like JPK/Fyfe/Cripps to hit to those in-close handballs/find the ball - I'm not sure. People only think he can make it as a mid because of that one game he racked up 33 touches playing Colts. That game his team won by 11 goals and no doubt he just bullied them with his size.

Logue's strength imo is when he gets a clean run at the ball and goes for pack marks. I like the idea of Logue as a third tall forward next to Lobb and Hogan but we do have Tabs and Cox that are capable of that too. Logue may be able to offer more defensive pressure than Cox or Tabs though so on team balance it may work out better.

That all said when Logue gets his chance he will play next to Hamling and AP in defence. With experience and confidence I feel he will turn into a Josh Gibson like defender that can play small or tall and will get his hands to everything. He will also be able to swing forward and potentially offer some bounce off the rebound with his pace.

I agree although it hasn’t worked for Hughes who still gets caught out by footballers.

Not sure why everyone wants to move him - 3rd tall will be his perfect position. Can play tall and small. Will be able to use his athleticism to get 3rd man up and intercept mark/spoil plus he is a better kick than pearce and hamling. If we were to add clark in the draft we would have some real kicking weapons with logue, ryan, wilson and clark

I would think cox is more likely to make it as an inside midfielder. Has greater agility around the stoppage and is creative with his hands. Hogan would be a candidate to get thrown in the middle and I'm hoping mundy and hill spend more time in there this year

Logue is half Croatian - genetics suggest he should be able to build that body shape without too much of an issue. Reckon he'll end up with looking a bit like Pav did - strong through the hips, backside and thighs. Almost impossible to tackle.

And Hughes is no longer wiry - he's one solidly sculpted lump of a lad. I still remember one game in 2017 I think it was, right on the boundary in front of where I sat on the wing at Subi - he went in for about 3 repeat efforts to win the ball against 2-3 opposition, and managed to get it, and deliver it perfectly to CHF. It was beautiful to watch. I think he's suited to further up the ground than deep defender.

Bit of a generalisation. Roger Hayden was a back pocket - he was never our shittest player. Ever.

Even meathead Hardie won a Brownlow from the BP.

I get you're Croatian but lots of factors go into defining body shape, especially something as vague as anglo ones.

And also he already has a big arse and thighs. Like, that's what I said. He doesn't need to build it. It's there.

And Hughes is wiry. Footballers are much slimmer irl these days than they were 10 years ago. He has low low body fat, is really muscular, and he's streamlined. He's definitely not a 'lump of a lad.' To me a lump is a Neale (sniff sniff)/Crowden sort who are nothing but short, small weights. Hughes is built like those little Ikea bendable figures – up, down, tall, thin.
