Wot a load of Cods Wallop , it was probably as simple as a family birthday. Conspiracy theories are so yesterday.

He would have had permission from Freo FC so grow up and get over it!

Perhaps you misread me? I'm not suggesting he's run away without the club knowing. I suggested maybe he negotiated the extra time off during his recent contract talks.

Cerra: Waterslides> Gym> Melbourne> Tokyo

Quite an array of sightings for young Cerra. Didn’t Harley Bennell visit Japan just before being a no-show for the B&F?

I’m calling he is still knocking back yakisoba stir fry and Sake in Kyoto.

Not true. I asked him once, and he said his great-grandfather was Croatian. So 1/8. Enough of a genetic make-up to make him prone to building up arse and thighs. But whatevs, I'm not going to get into a keyboard fight over the words the guy said himself.
In his book (purple heart) he says the Pavlich ancestor arrived in Scotland in the 1850's. I don't doubt what you say is what he said but when he said great grandfather he may have shaved a few greats off for brevity.

Ok, fair enough. But what on earth a Croat was doing in Scotland in the 1850s is beyond me...

I heard from my mate Zapruder that there was a second Cerra behind the grassy knoll on the outer wing at Cockburn

Luke Ryan will look to senior players Stephen Hill and Nathan Wilson for guidance this pre-season in a bid to take his game to the next level in 2019.

Ryan starred in his second AFL season, playing 20 games and finishing fifth in the Doig Medal count.

He led Fremantle with 52 intercept marks from his season total of 131 marks and ranked in the top three for rebound 50s, metres gained, effective kicks and disposal efficiency.

After establishing himself as an elite intercepting defender, Ryan plans to add some speed and penetration to his game to be even more damaging on the rebound.

“In my exit interview we covered working on a bit more run off half-back, which I’ve never really done over my career,” Ryan told 6PR.

“I’ve got Nathan Wilson next to me and Stephen Hill, so they’re pretty handy blokes to learn off on how to take the game on. So I’ll look to them and sit in meetings with them and learn how they do it.”

Ryan said he’s excited by the prospect of having a revamped forward line in his sights when moving the ball forward.

This includes key forward signings Jesse Hogan and Rory Lobb from the 2018 NAB AFL Trade Period.

“It’s going to be good coming out of D50 to see about three or four talls up there,” Ryan said.

“Hopefully, we can get the ball in their hands and we’ve got some good ball use coming out of the midfield and D50 to hit them on the chest and kick goals.

“That will make Ross (Lyon) a lot happier and the fans too, which is what we want to see.”

Ryan said he’s also looking forward to seeing what Fremantle’s strong defensive unit can achieve in 2019.

“We have a pretty solid back seven or eight players,” Ryan said.

“Now we’ve got key targets, if we get the ball in our forward 50, it might make our job a little bit easier.

“To have the likes of Alex Pearce, Nathan Wilson and Joel Hamling, they really help us younger blokes out.

“We’re pretty solid down there, we have a will to improve and we’ll keep building our chemistry.”

Went to uni with Stefan Giro for an entire semester, he never once mentioned that he was good at football or bragged in anyway. Super nice guy and didnt have an ego. You have a young talent right there!

The way he has presented himself for pre season shows he will leave no stone unturned to succed. Credit to the young man

Yep, at the very least you have a young player that is going to push your best 22 weekly to keep their spot, at his best he could be a 200+ game player! Nothing bad to say about him

If he pushes for a best 22 spot at the age of 18/19 from a rookie pick the selectors have done well.

It's awesome to hear that he is a nice guy too. So many young people can get carried away.

On a side note I would be pissed if Ballas wasn't performing and was getting a game in front of future players such as him and Switta. I still don't understand his 1 year extention. Great player for the club but Freo needs to push ahead with the rebuild.

Still need some experience around to mentor the young guys and set training standards. Definately agree with you that he shouldn't be gifted games, but who knows the conversation he and the club had, maybe his primarily role is to lead the boys at peel. Ballas is a long way off his best footy, but we have a huge number of young boys on the list and an extra year should just help calm the turnover. At the end of this year id expect Sandi, Mundy and Ballas to be off after this year Johno, D.Pearce and Spurr. Just spreads the load a bit.

I think you might find that we had extra $ in salary cap, and less $ available in soft cap ( coaching staff etc) so players like Sandi and Ballas are mainly about to mentor and set standards and coach IMO

Are we talking to 6PR again? Is that a Bell initiative?

I tell you what though Paracleet - Croatian genes are enduring. Check out these famous Croatian sportsman, and tell me there isn't a Croatian "look" (like there is most countries) and that Pav doesn't look as Croatian as any of these... 170-year-old genes or not!
