The ball is fairly and squarely in Harley's court. He will either stuff up again in which case we put a line through him and the club moves on or he does a Sonny and puts in the effort in which case we have a gun in our b22.
Bell has done the right thing in drawing the (final) line in the sand, I think we all know which way it will probably go but it's kind of a win win for the club either way now.

I'm sorry but I am so pessimistic about this I reckon it will blow up and be over before the season starts. There's not even the slightest hint that HB has taken Belly's words on board.

What would you expect if he had that is different, from the outside looking in, to what you can see now?

Something more like Clancee Pearce when he was moved to the rookie list running his guts out at the club over his holiday?

If training is mon wed and fri, does anyone know what the players do on tuesday and thursday?

Was an interesting read but the media dude is one serious runner. He looked like Chris Froome. He also casually talked about how he was running 3mins/km at 90-95% capacity and did so whilst leaving his group in his dust. I imagine their jokes about fish or horse disappeared quickly when they realised he had some serious running form.

Might be interesting if he attended their weights session. He’d struggle to bench 20kg.

Yep, that would have suited me. I would have more faith in Bennell if he had been seen on the track when the younger players came back.

If Bennell gets up, I see that like suddenly winning lotto. A bonus, if he doesn’t make it, then so be it.

I recall in his first year with us he got himself a personal trainer for the offseason and was there for first day of training. He reportedly looked great TTHD just prior to pinging his calf just before Xmas.

I've never been more frustrated during an off-season.

Our most exciting trade period ever, I cannot wait to see what kinda of team we put out round 1, not to mention who we draft.

Reckon Colyer is going to surprise a few people here. Won't become a superstar but he'll be a bit of a cult hero imo.

Colyer and conca will add some midfield grunt with leadership. Ripping guys. Harley will add disapointment and division.

Agreed... And Colyer looks far more leadership material with a haircut :p

Harley... Eh.
Differing reasons, but in the Morabito basket of 'what could have been'. So damn disappointing both as a Freo supporter and general lover of the game.
People getting huffy that Harley isn't back at training early bemuse me though.. The guy has glass calves, what would his being back early accomplish?

Walk laps. Do something. Make it look like you give a flying ****. Show you're doing your bit. Not just to us mugs, but his own teammates.
A player with more talent than most that isn't putting in the effort gets noticed in any environment, it becomes a bit of a joke.

Calves need time to build up the workload into them.
Doing ****all then expecting them to just work after having a long rest is just wrong. Mind you, it's not like the club don't know this.
Maybe he's doing this on his own, not for us to know I guess.

Can we assign someone to carry Harley everywhere so nothing happens to his calves.
I was thinking empire strikes back type scenario.
Another solution to our Harley problem is if anyone who is extremely quick could donate him some calves that would be great thank you.
My best idea yet make him stay in America. Crazy things happen over there, is it that much of a stretch that his calves magically heal.

Thinking of America lets start a conspiracy theory gold coast didn't trade us the real Harley, the one we have is a fake. I believe he's become a victim to a ravenous cane toad possibly a gang of them.
Why is no one reporting this you ask. Well because Damian Barrett said it was a brilliant story. Screaming all the other reporters quickly escaped the building and promptly fled to the evacuation points. Damian Barrett then lost interest in this and because it was legit. He then proceeded to make up a story about how a club is in disaster. Not to fear though bell will soon get to the bottom of this.

Should’ve been delisted then rookie listed. If that’s a massive kick up the butt I don’t know what is. See him work for it. Yet he got a guaranteed contract for say 100k-300k. Either way, Bennell’s destiny is in his hands and no one else’s .

He wouldn't have had to flog himself to death. But he could have encouraged his younger teammates, participated in ball-work, continued with whatever kind of conditioning program has been laid out for him.

When you have played 2 games in 3 years perhaps you might just want to show something on the track.
