Sorry guys I friggen hate Richmond as much as all of you, but I cant stomach that turd mummys boy Hendo winning one. And Touhy disprespecting carlton too, I also could not stomach him winning it.

Also Geelong are too big for their boots trying to buy a premiership, the universe needs to show that it doesn’t work that way.

Richmond winning who cares!! They are insignificant anyway.

I didn't think 2E really disrespected the club in his recent comments tbh. It wasn't his decision really to leave anyway, the club and SOS lowballed him with a low offer which meant he had to look elsewhere.

You are spot on about Henderson, but I have no I'll feeling forwards Tuohy whatsoever, except for that weird bum fluff he is currently wearing on his face, not a great look Irish 🤡🤡🤡

Can't think of much id like less than the merc ablett to bow out with a flag. Henderson doing the same one of the very few things worse. Really don't want to see richmond win another either. Ill be plastering a play room, pretending nrl is the code that matters. Hasn't been a gf in my life where I have not at least preferred one of them before this year. Thank god for not hosting a party this year.

Unfortunately if it's a ratings success, The AFL may decide to keep a night grand final in permanently.

That scenario bothers me a lot more than whoever wins this game to be honest.

Can understand it for this season given the unique circumstances, but I wouldn't want a centuries plus tradition of a Day Grand Final being put on the scrap heap.

As I said opinions vary. He left the club high and dry after we resurrected his career from Brisvegas. Nothing short of a dog act.

High and dry?
SOS shipped him so that we could get Harry McKay, and rebuild. How is that high and dry?

Well obviously I have got a different memory. I was under the impression he asked to be traded with 6 or so rnds to go.
This is from the CFC website

Carlton’s Lachie Henderson has this morning told his teammates that he has requested a trade after 102 games in the navy blue.

Henderson, who is out of contract at the end of the season and not a free agent, wants to find a fresh start at another football club.
Given his intentions, Henderson, his management and Carlton have agreed that it’s in the best interests of all parties that he won’t play out the season.

I interned at the cats over preseason and, being in my early 20's, this is the closest I've been to "supporting" a grand final team. Fwiw, Henderson didn't do much to change my opinion on him, still filthy. GAJ is as nice a bloke as the media have said this week, would love him to go out with a win.

Seriously not cool.
And SOS shipped Hendo, he wasn't a traitor. He was currency.

If Hendo gets Lynch, actually hope he does well.

And he was currency, which SOS wanted badly. With both Hendo and Zac, it wasn’t as if the club were pushing them to stay. SOS seemed quite happy to have them leave for trade capital. The Hendo trade got us Harry.

Even if it was 100% on Hendo that he left (it wasn't), getting Harry McKay is not being left high and dry.

Fair enough, were're never going to agree on this, so best to just move on. Enjoy your weekend, Go Blues.

Can I just say how much I hate the night grand final?

Used to thoroughly enjoy the morning, the anticipation as the day wore on, sitting down for lunch witth the match. It was different, in a different timeslot, than the standard games, and that set it apart. You'd have a meal, then the game would start, and you'd be engrossed in it from start to finish, and when it did you'd have tea fairly soon.

Now, it's exclusionary. Kids have to stay up, parents and families have to contain the excitement all day. There's nothing special about the time; it's starting at 6:30. Might as well be Ch.7's typical Saturday night timeslot, B commentary team included. There's no time afterwards to talk about the game after a meal, because it's almost bedtime for everyone.

If they try to do this in a normal season, I will be up in arms.

I sympathise with the tradition argument, but as someone who used to work weekends, there's nothing worse than trying to get grand final day off.

Having said that, a night grand final just shifts this problem over to people who work Saturday nights, but I'm guessing that's a smaller percentage of the population?

In short, my argument is weak, at best. [emoji1787]

I mentioned this before, but a permanent Night Grand Final is my biggest fear from all of this.

I do hope the game is a blow out or a really ugly and scrappy affair so as to try deter the viewing public and AFL that a Night Grand Final is a good idea.

I reckon the ratings will determine if a night GF is the way to go in the future. I wouldnt be surprised if this GF gets one of the lowest TV ratings.

The whole Grand final day has lost it's appeal for me. I used to go to a mates place early and watch the channel 7 marathon and get on the beers and have a BBQ for breakfast, start the spit for lunch / dinner talk a lot of sh1t and really work into the big game at 2.30pm
A night GF is all kinds if wrong. Takes away the atmosphere and makes it just a meh day.

My pure and unadulterated hatred for Richmond is so powerful, that I will watching every second today. Riding every bump, feeling every hit.
Hate is a strong word, but when it comes to Richmond, it’s the ultimate understatement for me.
The joy I’ll feel today when Richmond lose, is akin to the joy I’ll feel when Carlton win their next one.

**** Richmond! Go Cats!

So I scope the markets,

2 dozen Coffin Bay Gila Monster oysters for $30 - ✔ ✔
Cold cut Roast Lamb - ✔
Turkish Bread - ✔
Coriander - a dining essential

....and then the cakes, to go with the artsy fartsy coffee.

Bit of Black Forest - indeed
Baklavas - Hell yeah
Cannolis - Phwooooooaaaar

So bloody happy after that little mission, gave the Billy a thorough cleaning.

.....and then I discover the game doesn’t start for 5 goddam hours...

Oysters, you’re up first.
