I’m guessing it will be the 25-30yr olds who have a young family who have realised the weather and life style suits there future needs.

I personally don’t give 2 hoots what there reason is, asking as they are easily top 18 players.
And if they are midfielders they need to be A grade

On Channel 9 news tonight in Adelaide, being reported Atkins is lining up a five year deal at Gold Coast! Atkins who most on our board are glad to see the back of! WTF is going on up there, how could a Crows reject get a deal the way your list is shaping??

He is the perfect age/experience/character for our demographic. You really love having personalities like him at your club. A Tom Nicholls type.

He wouldn't be my choice but I have complete faith in this club if they think Atkins is right, then I'm on board. The Greenwood trade just one of many examples of their level of wizardry.

Thinking about if the club was wanting to get him they must be thinking that maybe he could take over from a cooked Harbrow/Hanley as a player who can provide rebound out of the back half.

You would hope that they are not breaking the bank with his signing, and that there is still scope to sign a Broad type backman, and potentially an Elite/A grade talent to top up the team.

What can I say I'm still scarred by having to watch Aaron Hall put a cancer through our team.

Just to give you some idea of his value.....depending on whether you're the buyer or the seller of course.

On the Adelaide board some are claiming he'll be on a 5yr contract of $500-600K a year and they'll get Pick 3 as compo.....
a lot are also saying early 2nd Rd (#21)

I wonder if there is a Lachie Neale type of player on the Gold Coast right now that's enquiring about joining us later this year. This hub situation could really be the making of our club in a lot of ways. The lifestyle we can offer these players is very attractive and they've all had a taste of it this year. I expect us to be active in the off season.

The way things have panned out this year certainly has put Gold Coast / Brisbane on the map as a football state and a 'taste' for the entire afl playing community wouldn't have done it any harm and players will not just disregard GC from their thoughts. Also playing good football and having a lst full of talented kids

Not sure how we or any other teams can be signing more players whilst there is still uncertainty around the list sizes and salary cap going forward?

Whilst I've been down on Atkins it all depends on the contract.
IF we are giving him 3 years at max 1 million that's fine, I'll definitely take him.
If we are giving him 4+ years at 500k / year - that is a bad contract.

You can even see that without being in the inner sanctum too. Awesome bloke and pick up. I'm thrilled with him. Our team needed more fun.

Sure Atkins isn’t a perfect player, but Ellis & Greenwood aren’t either. But look how well they play their role in our best 22.

We need experienced spread, run & carry on the outside, and I think Atkins can play this role well in our best 22. Replaces what Hanley was too cooked to provide.
