I like it as an idea. But, if we thought that a top 3 pick slid to us, you'd take it.. It's a long way away yet. I like the idea that we back ourselves to improve.. we should absolutely do that

I’m suggesting we are getting 2 free hits with Jeffrey and Davies. In a tainted draft we might try and roll the pick over to the next year and back ourselves to improve

2021 picks are going to be way more valuable than picks this year , I have read that a pick #15 next year would have similar talent value to pick #5 (live) pick this year. But you guys have a beauty in this years zone kids apparently with Davies

Really curious why do you think DGB suits us to a tee. Yes, he seems like a great talent but looking at his height weight he has a long way to play on key forwards, possibly never. We got pretty handy interceptors already.

Looking at the game plan this year and the players we have I see us playing more of a rebounding game than lockdown game for the next few years. I see Collins and Ballard as more lock down players in the future even though they are interceptors at this stage

Gives me a bit more confidence that his defensive game can be what we need it to be.

If this game shoots him up past our pick, it will give us a chance of a gun midfielder in Philips or 1 of the key forwards available at the top end.

Why would the need DGB? Logue, Cox, Ryan, Pearce, Duman. They have plenty of defenders

I have a few freo mates who prefer to draft DGB so I would say they don’t have much confidence in their current defensive stocks. Luke Ryan playing 1st defender and killing it but they need to free him up again, DGB could easily start next year for them at CHB

Cox is rumoured to be going to Adelaide

264 point deficit which knocks back by 2 picks if the ladder stays exactly this way, at least one pick knock back however

Could we possibly trade back our pick 6-8 for 2 first rounders and then trade them for senior guns eg. hunter, laird etc.

I would happily trade back for Laird and Hunter with the Lions if getting both for there picks was possible in this draft

As a Lions supporter, I’d do that trade in a heartbeat.

Isn’t Laird a restricted free agent, so no need to trade for.

It’s a rare KPD who can walk in from the draft and hold down a starting spot.

I’m not sure if DGB should be the KPD you guys should be looking at. Thought Cox might be more the one to look at.

Like DGB , but not sure what Craig Cameron have in mind . Also don't get too fixed mind on DGB as third tall, same position with Ballard , Ben King play more defense in U18 before Max king went down , Lukosius more forward . Now Ben play forward and luko defense in AFL for GCS , Good player adapt well.

Of course the fact that these 3 have the most trade value of the "out of favour"guys not getting selected is no more than a coincidence
I feel bad for these guys because they were there when others weren't and despite their failings have tried hard
I don't think Will was ever given a real go
Hopefully they get a gig and a good run somewhere else
The question is what would we get for them?
It's not the worst thing they haven't been playing because recruiters will probably just be stamping their files with Covid 2020 Anomaly Year and they will be super fit if nothing else
Could we cut a big chunk of salary cap and pick up enough trade picks to bundle something together for a gun mid or defender?

All 3 of them will be getting payed way too much for their performances, trade them if we can. Clear some space and chase A grade mids. That's what we are missing and Fiorini or Brodie aren't going to be A graders

People talk about us tracking like Brisbane but unless we pick up a Lachie Neale and a Charlie Cameron "equivalent"(ie ready made star at either end of the ground) it will be hard to progress like they have IMO

I reckon we have more top end talent then them with younger players.
Rankine, King, Luko, Rowell,Anderson,Flanders, Powell, Ballard is better then Bailey, Berry, McCluggage, Starc etc. They have a better balanced list and a great spread of players, we need an A or even soild B+ midfielder to take some pressure of Greenwood, Rowell etc. It's our biggest miss, we get hammered at clearances when Greenwood is getting first position

I think they need another mature experience mid. Can't just rely on Rowell next year. Some may say they don't need crouch.. But I'm unsure now. Need that extra big body inside there.
