Is this the same media who thought Lachie Weller was getting 800k? The reality is 'sources' have no real clue. Article says 4 years with trigger for fifth. Happy with that.

I'll trust what the list managers do. They haven't really put a foot wrong, and after steering us back from salary cap oblivion, I'm not inclined to thing we'll go back there.

Sidenote, I note Broad from the Tiges was dropped again this week. Maybe someone like THE_GUN can tell us what he's doing wrong? Underperforming?

Broad is just making sure he doesn't get injured so he can have a clean run with us next year

There is no way Atkins is worth close to $500000 per year ( if true )
One way player who will give you some terrific moments dispersed with plenty of bad ones.( Polec and Hall )
Adelaide mates are happy he is going.
3 year deal on$300000 maybe ?

Personally i cant see anything he is doing wrong and playing as he has done the last 4-5 years , But just an opinion i think he may have told the club he has an offer and the club either cant or wont match it and are putting time into Markov who looks like he is playing well and have not missed Broads influence.

Personally i thought he had a good game last week with Grimes missing

I had the same thoughts...about him maybe getting an offer.

Thoughts on Jack Viney? He's basically a better midfielder version of Nick Holman, still OOC
I can't possibly think he would leave Melbourne. He's a father/son product, bleeds that club. But who knows I guess, for more opportunity.

So fox footy has changed its article to say this about atkins.

"The contract will be worth just shy of $500,000 per season across the first four years and include triggers for a fifth season."

So its 4 years with a trigger for a 5th.

Wow thats a big contract for a player like Atkins with the cap coming down

Just a question how much are you guys in love with Alex Davies , Is he a guaranteed selection ? Trade possible ? will there be bidding involved or auto listing

will be pre-listed from what the word is. He is that highly rated.

Journos would be getting that info from the player manager, the only person who benefits from releasing the highest possible $ numbers and the longest possible years. The player and the club do not benefit from this info being released.

And player managers are like politicians. Don't trust what they say, look at what they actually do.

Suggest that 'just shy of $500,000' means something like:
- can earn about $450,000 if he plays 22 games, the club plays finals, and the club wins the flag. Otherwise, $350,000 for a bog standard player and club season.

WHAT IS PETER WRIGHT WORTH?

PETER Wright will explore his trade options at season’s end after failing to break into the Suns’ senior team all season.

But clubs are yet to show their hand in making a play for the ruck-forward.

The lack of demand for the 203cm Wright means the Suns can’t expect much in a trade for the 203cm goal kicker.

Wright, 24, was taken with pick No. 8 in the 2014 national draft and was earlier in his junior season touted as the possible No. 1 pick.

But he has been leapfrogged by Ben King in the Suns’ side this year and has plans to move clubs despite being contracted for one more season.

Any move will almost certainly include a pay cut after falling out of favour at the Suns.

GIVE US YOUR BEST OFFER

Gold Coast will listen to offers for Peter Wright during the trade period, knowing they will likely have to pay a portion of his salary cap if he moves clubs.

Wright has two more years on a contract foxfooty.com.au understands is worth more than $500,000 per season.

It’s almost certain a rival club would refuse to foot the half-a-million dollar bill, but they could get him for a fraction of the price.

The Suns are open to trading the 24-year-old if he declares he would like to explore opportunities elsewhere.

Wright has slipped back in the pecking order in 2020 and hasn’t featured in Stuart Dew’s best 22 at all.

Victorian clubs have long believed he will be gettable in November’s trade period.

Essendon and Collingwood have told agents they would like another big man, while Richmond may need to look for a Toby Nankervis replacement if he doesn’t re-sign.

Wright, who is 203cm tall, has booted 85 goals in 66 games for the Suns since he was selected with Pick 8 in the 2014 National Draft.

Rival clubs see him more as a forward who can pinch-hit in the ruck rather than the other way around.

Don’t blame 2MP for wanting to move on. And it saves us paying $500k a season to someone stuck in the reserves. Win/win.

Similar to Brodie on $400k. Even Fiorini is debatable at the moment 🤷‍♂️

Corbett can play key forward if required or move Lukosius back into a roaming tall forward.

Trade in Broad from Tigers to give us cover down back.

Add Atkins to a wing. Rowell back into the guts next season

Still need another key back with Thompson seemingly cooked. Although would a mix of Collins, Ballard and Broad be enough?

Would also love another rebound defender to move Bowes into the midfield rotations as well. Kid has the goods to carve sides up if given a chance.

Really want Bowes back in the middle, the uear in defence will do him well though. He is so calm and collected making decisions and stepping out of traffic now

I can't believe people still get stuck of not moving king to backline , his goal kicking dry up recently .
