Markov is pretty decent, just hasn’t had his chance behind Short Houli Broad.

Seems maybe Broad is asking too much or wanting to stay so we are targeting Markov who is basically a future 3rd rounder.

Depend on what type of mid, versatile mid or inside mid . Beams hardly played for Collingwood , ped is aging , Mayne turn into winger not a mid .Grundy playing as ruck /mid .

Apart from Grundy , Ped, Treloar , who is Collingwood mid that played against Eagles that required a first round draft pick .

I don't really rate Markov at all. He runs fast, that's about it. Not sure of his actual footballing ability or ability to defend. Broad is a much better player and fills more of a need for us.

I can only assume we have cooled on Broad because he asked for a bit more coin than what we're willing to give up?

Don't mind bringing in Markov.

Always good to look at a strong team with a lot of depth in an area and see who is getting pushed out b/c of the quality in front of them.

A lot of good half back flankers would be pushed out by Short, Baker, Houli and Vlastuin. And by Stack when he was playing well as a defender last year.

The one thing he does have is elite athleticism (speed and endurance), which puts him well in front of a lot of our recruits.

Don't mind Markov , cheap delisted type of players from Richmond , 250k a year , two year contract and tell him due to Corey Ellis , third year will be trigger by AFL games played with GCS or he can stay with Richmond for 150k or play VFL .

still can’t seem to attract the top level players like Brisbane did in 2018, and we’re picking over the carcass of guys who can’t get a game...

happy to be proven wrong, but hardly the “queue” of players who reportedly were beating down the door to move to sunny Queensland.

It is early, I guess. But it's feeling very low key for us at the moment. I would have been hoping for one 'holy sh*t' make that happen type of rumour for us. We had so many leaks regarding back of house activities recently, why the hell are there no leaks about awesome player movements?

I wouldn't want to be spending top dollar on a HB. A good midfielder is where we need to spend the dollars, who knows, there are 6 teams left playing, might come from one of them.

Markov having a quick glance is 24, has shown he is capable. Wouldn't mind it, pace and bounce off HB is something we are sorely missing.

The great and special
gift from VFL House Mark Evans might have stuffed our momentum up by Doing what the other clubs didn’t do and sacking all those staff members before seasons end. It’s created a perception rightly or wrongly that we are a just an amateur clique Joint.
