Flanders is a fwd. Played his underage year as a fwd for club and Vic Country. Kicked 4 in a quarter against Oakleigh Chargers in a final primarily stationed up fwd.

Played his top age year as a mid just to show his versatility but hes a natural fwd.

Got enough small fwds - Rankine, Sexton, Ainsworth, DMac, Rosas, Lemmens, Holman. Need more key backs and fwds, small and running defenders

Need inside mids.

Having Fiorini brodie Davies *insert pick 5*
all playing VFL is great for our depth and future salary cap 🙌🏼

The problem is that DMac , Lemmens and Holman have very poor goal kicking records so it seems that GC is blessed with small forwards when they actually aren't and Flanders looked so much better in the middle in his games last year. Totally agree with your other statement - key backs and fwds, small and running defenders, amazing with so many players (48) there are still list gaps

He is prepared to enter a national draft, but at the end of his initial 2 year contract, he is more then likely going to request a trade home

I blame a kid's parents to condone this type of indulgent attitude.

I would tell my son to be open minded and enjoy the ride.

My dad would have never allowed me to enjoy that level of entitlement. Obviously has w***er parents.

Inside mids? That's all we have. We need mids with pace and skills to actually get the ball moving. We are one of the best contested teams in the leauge but we have no-one on the outside to feed it too

Which shows that he isn’t prepared to play a national level sport. Play VFL. He’s guaranteed to play in Victoria.

Seems like it’s often the Sandringham Dragons kids who have these issues - Perkins, Bailey Smith, Scrimshaw, etc.

Is this just that they are the most Melbourne-centric clubs down there, or are they just not preparing these kids to go interstate?

Not gonna lie, that’s my suburb.
Bloody expensive and snobby.
All private schooled kids.
Probably just want to keep access to parents trust funds

I was being sarcastic 🤣

Pick 5 we get Phillips who is an inside mid we have plenty of..
or we get someone else.. who the next group 5-20 are all rated the same.

lose lose situation

He's a likely 1st round draft pick and a decent academic, I think his parents get a pass. At the end of the day he doesn't owe anyone anything, just to do what makes him happy. If he gets drafted interstate then he should work as hard as he can while contracted to that club and then at the end of his contract obligation, seek a trade but if asked do you have concerns about moving interstate, I think he showed a decent set of kahunas saying yes. If that was my kid, I'd be proud as punch

I would be proud if I was a deluded Brighton parent who had my head up my ass and wanted to live out my kids AFL dream vicariously through my son by having him around and showing him off to all my w***er mates.

I grew up about 5km away from where these kids come from. These parents are the worst.

Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson went to a school in Kew to be fair

I don’t want to judge him before he even gets drafted, but it does sound like this kid has never been told to pull his head out of his a** by anyone close to him. Perhaps a few years outside of his comfort zone would do wonders for him.

Known as fact that both those parents are awesome so that's mainly where the difference lies in whether they already have a good set of values before they start their scholarship at these schools.

This media sht storm he's got now is going to save himself a lot of drama in 2 years time and now he can focus on his footy and his studies and will save gws, or whoever was going to take him the problem of jackson hateley 2.0. But you're making massive generalizations about his parents here.

It's BigFooty - I make many baseless and general calls based on my pure emotions that I would never went to share in the real world.

Values determine a person's character. Values are largely attributed to how a child was raised, with parent's generally having the largest input. That he and I assume his parents were happy to go public with this says all I need to know about this kid's character.

Don't hate it, appreciate the honesty

The problem is, he's not being honest at all — he just doesn't WANT to play outside of Victoria. Anyone that buys into his "I'm not ready" brand of honesty is being played by an eighteen year old.

Paris of the South, according g to these self obsessed w***ers

Nobody will talk about not ready "Perkins" if he can only nominate Rookie draft.

Speaking to SUNS Media, Burns said the club would look to draft the best available talent with Gold Coast’s current pick 5, but would be open to moving up or down the order for the right price.
