See above, already more physically developed than most out thereThanks, I only watched the 2nd qtr but he looks like the mid with the most composure and time in traffic. Even his handballs were always to the advantage side.
A person who can accurately predict the draft after it happens should be working for the AFL with that level of insightYou need to go back and look at the draft threads instead of making stuff up.
JUH, Hollands, Phillips and TT were always going top 5-6
McDonald had a huge year and rose.
DGB rose throughout the year
Hollands did a knee.
Bruhn season was ruined with a knee.
By the end of the season the top 6 of JUH, TT, Phillips, McDonald, DGB and Hollands was a consensus.
The only scenarios were would we bid on JUH and would we go local?
DGB was always tipped to go to Hawthorn.
NM had a choice to go with a tall or midfielder and history says the safest option is a mid and the other safe option was one who hadn't done an ACL.
So logically Sydney take McDonald and GC took Hollands.
Anyone who studied the significant rebuilds that work would realise you build the midfield 1st.
Young talls with a crap midfield lose confidence pretty quickly.
Hawthorn had Crawford, Hodge, Mitchell, Brown and took Lewis with Roughy and Franklin.
Melbourne and the Dogs followed similar paths.
Anyone who says Phillips was a bad call has gone way to early. He will be a gun for a long time and will make Larkey and CCJ look very good.
It was only a surprise to those who listened to knightmare for half a year bang on about McDonald.
Yep he'll be a very good one at that. Can't kick, State League player

Next year's draft for SA is the land of the giants 3 legitimate 1st round prospects.Geez Lemmey looks a decent prospect.

That wasn't hindsight so maybe get your head out your ar** and go back review the draft boardsA person who can accurately predict the draft after it happens should be working for the AFL with that level of insight

Any why the talk of trading it is so short sighted.Next year's draft for SA is the land of the giants 3 legitimate 1st round prospects.
Just tuned in how has Lukac been going?Jordan Lukac's athleticism alone will get him drafted, his skill set not too bad all round.
If it's for Jason Horne it's almost worth it, but it's a fair point.Any why the talk of trading it is so short sighted.
Hasn't done a lot outside of ruck but what he does catches the eye.Just tuned in how has Lukac been going?
Hard to figure why Draper is still playing down back and why little midfield for Shay Linke?
He has been quite good in the ruck. Shows some mobility.Just tuned in how has Lukac been going?
Has history of injuryI didn't see Draper that quarter. He was clutching his shoulder just before half time.
Im Calling it now. Milera wanganeen will be a star From this draft and
Would be a great Pick up for us. Great user of the ball and Moves well In traffic. May need to get creative With our drafting and trading
You and everyone else did not know that North would take Phillips at 2 last year - that much was plainly evident on draft day - nor do any of you know with certainty what they will do with pick 1 this year, that was the point of the exercise. That wasn't hindsight so maybe get your head out your ar** and go back review the draft boards
You might I'm taking Draper before those 2 others.I would have him ahead of Draper and Roberts at this stage.

Yes..but carlton being carlton they would have ruined him as a player and he would have been a charlie dixon instead..oops am i allowed to be that disrespectfulJk 700 goals would have been handy for Carlton

Imo, we are over the moon we took thilthorpe and i have no doubt you guys are quite happy with getting phillips. Sydney 'might' be the worry if WCE and Freo come hard for mcdonald but he was a bonus as they got campbell in the same draftSorry for the intrusion but thought I’d mention something re the Phillips decision.
The club was very open after taking Phillips that given we are in a rebuild they are prioritising not only talent but leadership and competitiveness. Our recruiters and coach have said that they want the most competitive talented kid. They interviewed all the 2020 draft candidates and asked who was the most competitive player they’ve played with or against, and it was a landslide in favour of Phillips. Similar questions were asked about leadership, with similar results.
Not only is JHF elite in these two areas (competitiveness & leadership), he is clearly the best player.
